It was a big week in Mexico as it’s two top promotions held big shows. The first of which was CMLL with it’s annual tribute to its founder alongside another wrestling legend. This year it was a tribute to Blue Demon with Homenaje A 2 Leyendas. The night overall was a very fun atmosphere as the fans were receptive to pretty much everything and the overall quality of the show was always pretty high. It made for an overall fun show to watch. Watching it though is kind of tricky. It’s now since uploaded to YouTube, but initially, we went…

There might be Young Bucks! I hope that one grabs your attention. AAA also has a big show this week. The show presents its two annual Tournaments in the form of a Gauntlet Match this year. The biggest hook of the show is actually Cody Rhodes, as he is slated to appear in some capacity. The most recent episode of Being The Elite teased The Young Buck invading an international show. This seems to point towards this show being their destination. Though there’s no Joey Ryan to rescue here. Let’s see what this show has to offer. Hopefully, AAA sticks…

CMLL is presenting one of its mayors shows this Friday. The show’s theme is honoring two legends. The first is always EMLL (now CMLL) founder Salvador Lutteroth and the other tends to change with this year Blue Demon being honored. The tricky part is figuring out how to watch this thing. CMLL will occasionally hold iPPVs for their bigger shows but the only one that is ever consistently an iPPV is their Anniversary show. The others will vary and are announced very late. As of this writing, it’s still unclear if the show will be an iPPV or a regular…

AAA is a very peculiar company. It was formed in 1992 after founder Antonio Peña had a dispute with CMLL booker Paco Alonso. He took several stars loyal to him very similarly to the various Japanese company’s exodus’ over the years. While CMLL focuses on traditional pro wrestling with very simple storytelling and rivalries, AAA is the polar opposite. Focusing on theatrics with bright lights, over the top wrestling and such. Growing in fame thanks to an alliance with WCW and later TNA, it’s had its ups and downs which primarily relate to the Mexican economy. When it dips, AAA…

WWC is coming off their latest TV taping in the town of Manati. They’re still not drawing well at all but there has been a creative shift as they’re now taking more input from the wrestlers to try and add some more nuance their stories and matches. While WWC has always been a throwback company that simply labels its characters as heels and faces with no real middle ground or differing characterization, the past few years have really shown a lack of care from the top brass in the company. Stories will begin with a big angle shot (the most…

Back with WWL this 2/23/19 as the company seems to set itself up for an upward swing of stories and characters. Last week we focused on the World title scene as Angel Fashion was able to overcome his tag team partner Mike Mendoza’s own ambition for the title to pin the Champion BJ and earn a rematch. Today though we focus on the heart of the company. The tag team scene. We’re hot off the heels of the very hot feud between Champions Primos Melendez (Melendez Cousins) and WestSide Mafia. WSM has exited the promotion but just as they do,…

We’re back with a review of WWC Superstars of Wrestling, one of the longest-running wrestling promotions on the planet. Though it’s seen far better days. However, it seems like there’s a bit of a bright light ahead for them as they’ve started recruiting wrestlers for their rather depleted roster. The show is emanating from a borough community center for a rather unique look to the show. We start the show with a cold open. Top heel Gilbert stands in the ring with his group “El Sindicato” (The Sindicate) for his segment cleverly named “Gilbert’s Opinion” and he calls out the…
