#Review WWC Superstars Of Wrestling 04/20/19
I am finally back to WWC Superstars Of Wrestling, which can be a very ‘old school’ company. By that, I mean that their TV show is still very much treated as simple ads for their live events. There may be promos and matches but the way they are treated is all in the name of getting the viewer to attend a show and not really about telling long-form storytelling. So very often, matches will re-air or entire episodes show matches from years past completely out of context just to fill the time slot. As long as those ads air for…
#Review WWL High Voltage 04/13/19
This is the WWL High Voltage before their next set of tapings titled “Fuera De Control” (Out Of Control). Things have kinda changed since the last episode as a big free agent has been brought in with Justin Dynamite. A very young but very talented second-generation wrestler who was mainly in CWA was crowned Champion but had a falling out with the company. Also, The Melendez Cousins might be on their way out as they might be moving to the US soon. They aren’t on the next set of tapings and a familiar face has seemingly taken their place. Here…
#Review WWL High Voltage 04/06/19
We continue to see what transpired at ‘Todo O Nada’ this week as well as develop the new top heel on the block, Mike Mendoza. Or is he something more complex? In today’s main event is what was thought to be a unification match between Super Cruisers Champion Mark Davidson and Americas Champion Hombre Bestia (Man-Beast) but its actually just a standard match with no gold on the line in this week’s edition of the WWL High Voltage review. After recapping LAX winning the Tag Team titles last week and the intro, we see the trio DOIT going around the…
#Review WWL High Voltage 03/30/19
So this week revealed that WWL has Wrestlemania plans. Well sort of. Their Tag Champs will be around. This week’s episode sees FOUR titles on the line at once in a 3 Way Tag Team match as The Melendez Cousins defend their WWL Tag Titles. The Fugitives defend their CWA Tag titles. While LAX ups the ante putting their House Of Glory and AAW Tag titles on the line as well in this week’s main event. The company tries to re-launch its Women’s division so let’s get to it. A quick music video recap of last weeks leads into the…
#Preview: SHIMMER #113 (4/5/19)
So, here we are again: Shimmer’s big wrestling event for Wrestlemania week is always a treat and I’m sure this one will be no different. The event will be held in Queens, New York and will have a whole host of familiar faces who has worked with Shimmer before as well as some new faces potentially. Here are some ladies who have yet to have matches announced who is on the card: Cheerleader Melissa, Shotzi Blackheart, LuFisto, Kris Statlander (a new name to me and perhaps to the crowd), Leva Bates, Hyan, Brittany Blake and Veda Scott. As you can…
#Review CWA Presents Batalla Por El Oro Live
This past Saturday I was able to attend a CWA Batalla Poe El Oro. CWA is tied for third in the pecking order of wrestling companies based on the island of Puerto Rico. WWC is the most-watched but it’s doing very bad business due to poor product quality while WWL has just recently debuted on TV with a smaller deal but presents a much more modern product. Meantime the recently revived IWA has no form of exposure being strictly live events, yet it’s capable of drawing large crowds. CWA would be the company to hold the most events in 2017…
#Review WWL High Voltage for 03/23/19
WWL is coming off a big taping with several notable matches. On this episode, the focus is squarely focused on the World title scene as Angel Fashion has his final opportunity against BJ while Mike Mendoza faces Mighty Ursus to be the next challenger. After a short music video with highlights, we get the intro video and are off to our first match right away. Mighty Ursus vs Mike Mendoza for the #1 Contendership of the WWL World Championship Ursus is on the heavier side and a former WWC Universal Champion while Mike Mendoza has been one of the hottest…
#Preview SHIMMER Tapings March 30 & 31
The two events over the weekend will feature more than 40 of the top female professional wrestlers from all over the world including the SHIMMER Champions, SHIMMER Champion Nicole Savoy, Heart of SHIMMER Champion Dust and SHIMMER Tag Team Champions Cheerleader Melissa and Mercedes Martinez. Also in the events are Rosemary, Shazza McKenzie, Kimber Lee, Britt Baker, Shotzi Blackheart, Allysin Kay, “Bloody Undead Bride” Su Yung, Samantha Heights, Leva Bates, Delilah Doom, Kris Wolf, Jessicka Havok, Nevaeh, Kiera Hogan, Zoe Lucas, “The Renaissance Woman” Hyan, Jessica Troy, Charli Evans, Solo Darling, Hudson Envy, Thunder Rosa, Holidead, Ashley Vox, Delmi Exo,…
On March 29th there is both a mini-convention with bonus matches for people who attend as well as the main event card for the RISE show they are calling Legendary. Early to RiSE also features Gail Kim leading a seminar. Whilst some matches have been announced for Early To RISE, much of what is going on during Legendary appears to be kept vague besides three matches. At the time of writing, there are a few Standing Room tickets for RiSE Legendary and a few tickets left for the Early To RISE mini-convention. Matches that have been announced so far are…
#Review CMLL Spectacular Fridays 03/22/19
We’re coming off the 2 Leyends show where the main event basically crashed against the barricade. El Terrible dislocated his shoulder leading to the babyfaces being very hated for beating a one-armed man. We did get an amazing Trios match just before though in the latest edition of CMLL Spectacular Fridays. Grako & El Coyote vs Star Jr & Enigma We get the more standard CMLL opening match here. A rather dull affair as the four start off taking turns chain wrestling before Grako hits an Elbow Drop on Star Jr to eliminate him and a Splash to Enigma ends…
