So, here we are again: Shimmer’s big wrestling event for Wrestlemania week is always a treat and I’m sure this one will be no different. The event will be held in Queens, New York and will have a whole host of familiar faces who has worked with Shimmer before as well as some new faces potentially. Here are some ladies who have yet to have matches announced who is on the card: Cheerleader Melissa, Shotzi Blackheart, LuFisto, Kris Statlander (a new name to me and perhaps to the crowd), Leva Bates, Hyan, Brittany Blake and Veda Scott. As you can…

This past Saturday I was able to attend a CWA Batalla Poe El Oro. CWA is tied for third in the pecking order of wrestling companies based on the island of Puerto Rico. WWC is the most-watched but it’s doing very bad business due to poor product quality while WWL has just recently debuted on TV with a smaller deal but presents a much more modern product. Meantime the recently revived IWA has no form of exposure being strictly live events, yet it’s capable of drawing large crowds. CWA would be the company to hold the most events in 2017…

WWL is coming off a big taping with several notable matches. On this episode, the focus is squarely focused on the World title scene as Angel Fashion has his final opportunity against BJ while Mike Mendoza faces Mighty Ursus to be the next challenger. After a short music video with highlights, we get the intro video and are off to our first match right away. Mighty Ursus vs Mike Mendoza for the #1 Contendership of the WWL World Championship Ursus is on the heavier side and a former WWC Universal Champion while Mike Mendoza has been one of the hottest…

On March 29th there is both a mini-convention with bonus matches for people who attend as well as the main event card for the RISE show they are calling Legendary. Early to RiSE also features Gail Kim leading a seminar. Whilst some matches have been announced for Early To RISE, much of what is going on during Legendary appears to be kept vague besides three matches. At the time of writing, there are a few Standing Room tickets for RiSE Legendary and a few tickets left for the Early To RISE mini-convention. Matches that have been announced so far are…

We’re coming off the 2 Leyends show where the main event basically crashed against the barricade. El Terrible dislocated his shoulder leading to the babyfaces being very hated for beating a one-armed man. We did get an amazing Trios match just before though in the latest edition of CMLL Spectacular Fridays. Grako & El Coyote vs Star Jr & Enigma We get the more standard CMLL opening match here. A rather dull affair as the four start off taking turns chain wrestling before Grako hits an Elbow Drop on Star Jr to eliminate him and a Splash to Enigma ends…

This is a rather awkward episode as the company just had its most recent set of tapings the night before. Of course, producing a TV episode overnight is very difficult for a one-man production team if you’re not organized for such. However, the company would rather pretend this was all done over Saturday morning so we get the host and commentators constantly talking about “how intense things were last night” without giving a single bit of detail. It comes off very silly in the latest edition of the WWL High Voltage review. The episode starts with the Trio known as…

WWC is setting itself up for a major show, possibly one before Spring Break (over here called “Holy Week” as it revolves around Easter) which WWC usually runs. The Xavant vs Gilbert feud for the Universal title is setting up its culmination as WWC president Victor Jovica dangles a mystery for us. Who will be the special guest ref? We’ll find out coming out of their tapings next week. The show as with most weeks opens with host Luis Toledo hyping up the show. “Things are getting hot” he comments. Bit of a silly statement when we’re in the Caribbean…

It was a big week in Mexico as it’s two top promotions held big shows. The first of which was CMLL with it’s annual tribute to its founder alongside another wrestling legend. This year it was a tribute to Blue Demon with Homenaje A 2 Leyendas. The night overall was a very fun atmosphere as the fans were receptive to pretty much everything and the overall quality of the show was always pretty high. It made for an overall fun show to watch. Watching it though is kind of tricky. It’s now since uploaded to YouTube, but initially, we went…

There might be Young Bucks! I hope that one grabs your attention. AAA also has a big show this week. The show presents its two annual Tournaments in the form of a Gauntlet Match this year. The biggest hook of the show is actually Cody Rhodes, as he is slated to appear in some capacity. The most recent episode of Being The Elite teased The Young Buck invading an international show. This seems to point towards this show being their destination. Though there’s no Joey Ryan to rescue here. Let’s see what this show has to offer. Hopefully, AAA sticks…
