On October 5th, All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Champion Carnival would come to a close as the finals took place. The tournament consisted of five shows due to the blocks being cut in half. We were able to see who came out on top with great matches that were full of surprises. Zeus wins the Champion Carnival tournament. On September 19th, 2020, Stardom’s 5Star Grand Prix has come to a close as they do their final show of the tournament. It was a great tournament with minor setbacks but was able to make it work at the end of things. During NOAH’s show on August 30th, we have witnessed a heartbreaking betrayal as Katsuhiko Nakajima has betrayed his tag partner and current GHC Heavyweight Champion, Go Shizoaki. It is clear that AXIZ is no more, as the tag team have gone their separate ways. A few weeks ago, it was announced that Japanese promotion ZERO1 was on the brink of shutting down. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It doesn’t help that some of their top people like Takaiwa, Sato, and Ikuto Hidaka have departed. There were rumors of them shutting down in August with their Tenkaichi Junior Tournament. On May 15th, Dragon Gate would start their annual King of Gate Tournament. Instead of doing a round-robin, they would do a single elimination with three blocks. On June 6th, we were down to our final four with YAMATO, Open the Brave Gate Champion, Kaito Ishida, Eita, and our Open the Dream Gate Champion, Naruki Doi. Naruki was able to get back in when he won the battle royal. This was after losing to Kaito in the block finals. This is something I never expected to write about in my lifetime, nor did I ever want to. Stardom wrestler, Hana Kimura would pass away on May 23rd. Due to cyberbullying she took her own life. She would post disturbing images on her Twitter account showing self-harm. The images left Kairi Sane and Io Shirai worried as they contacted Rossy Ogawa and Jungly Kyona to check up on her.
