#NEWS: PROGRESS Tampa Adds Another Top Name
PROGRESS has made another excellent addition to the roster that they intend to fly to Tampa for WrestleMania weekend. Spike Trivet joins Cara Noir, The OJMO, Anti Fun Police and Eddie Kingston for the April 2nd show. Whether any of his Do Not Resuscitate teammates make the trip with him is yet to be seen. We said of Spike Trivet: He is a powerful worker in terms of his in-ring work, for sure. But a massive part of his act is the character that he portrays in Lord Spike Trivet… Spike has pulled from quite a few places of inspiration…
We’re back with the PROGRESS Prerogative! This is the weekly column that looks back at each of PROGRESS’s main chapters in turn and lets you know what we thought. We’ve got a big one for you this week as Chapter 27 features a TLC match and a Thunderbastard. For those who don’t remember, a Thunderbastard is the match where combatants enter at two-minute intervals. Eliminations are by pinfall or submission only. The first two iterations were absolutely excellent, so let’s dig in and see how the third offering is. Incidentally, this is the company’s fourth anniversary show, hence why the…
#NEWS: PROGRESS Suspend William Eaver
There was controversy this past Sunday at PROGRESS Chapter 101. During the Do Not Resuscitate vs OJMO & NIC match, William Eaver threw OJMO into the crowd. Reports are varied as to what exactly happened. Some fans saying no warning was given and others saying that Eaver told fans to move several times. Regardless, the end result had OJMO land on top of fans courtesy of a fallaway slam and anger in some quarters. Today PROGRESS issued the following statement: William Eaver is suspended for the next 3 events, effective immediately. We at PROGRESS believe that the up-close-and-personal nature of…
TK Cooper is an athlete who has risen in the ranks of BritWres since he arrived here in the middle of the last decade. Relocating from his native New Zealand, Cooper took a big step in moving to the UK, but it’s a gamble that continues to pay off. His flying, strong style ring work has won him a legion of admirers amongst both fans and peers. Plying his trade for all manner of companies across the breadth of the country, TK never struggles to fill his bookings. There have been tribulations along the way: injuries, breakups, and stalled pushes.…
PROGRESS have announced the first competitor in this year’s Super Strong Style 16! Current Ring of Honor tag team champion Jon Gresham joins the battle! For those of you who may be unfamiliar, Super Strong Style 16 is the annual tournament hosted by PROGRESS comprised of 16 entrants. Over a three day period they compete in an elimination tournament to crown a winner who can claim a Unified World Title shot at a date of their choosing. This usually happens at the biggest show of the year which takes place in September, but this tradition seems to be rather up…
Welcome back to the PROGRESS Prerogative! If you’ve been reading along for the last 6 months you’ll know that this is the weekly column that looks at each PROGRESS Chapter in turn. Also, Chapter 26 is back in the Manchester following the debut in the venue for Chapter 24 – let’s see what went down at the Valentine’s…
It was supposed to be Eddie Dennis defending the PROGRESS Unified Title against Cara Noir at Chapter 101 today. Unfortunately, that did not come to pass as we would be informed at the opening of the show. Dennis interrupted new compere Matt Richards’s opening address to announce he was vacating the belt. At Friday’s NXT UK tapings, he sustained a shoulder injury that will take him out of action for some time. This marks the latest of a run of absolutely rotten luck for the Pride of Wales as he has had major injuries plague him for the last 18…
This April PROGRESS Wrestling is returning the US for WrestleMania weekend and their roster is beginning to take shape. Announced so far are The OJMO, The Anti Fun Police, Eddie Kingston, and Cara Noir. It will be welcome news to fans of the company that PROGRESS seems intent on displaying a roster of independent talent aside from their WWE contracted men and women. Four young, potentially massive, stars and a legend of indy wrestling worldwide is a very nice start indeed. The OJMO has been on fire on the BritWres scene over the last year or so as he has…

This is the PROGRESS Prerogative, the weekly column that takes a look back at each of the company’s Chapters in turn. It’s a big, big show for reasons that will be quite obvious once you reach the end of this review with Chat Shit Get Banged. We’ve finally got another women’s match on the show after Jinny and Pollyanna tore it up at Super Strong Style 16, many months ago. The tag team titles are up for grabs. And Will Ospreay defends against a huge threat in the form of Marty Scurll. Have a wee look at the preview below…
