It is time for the AEW Holiday Bash! It is a big night as the Gold League comes to a dramatic end with three final-robin round matches. The show will also have an AEW Women’s World Championship Number One Contender’s Match.
Let us find out more about this important card in Oklahoma City in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
We’ll Hear From MJF & Samoa Joe
Two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, MJF was attacked backstage by The Devil, and his future Worlds End opponent Samoa Joe was unable to help him. Joe had failed at his goal to keep the AEW World Champion healthy before their match on December 30th. At Holiday Bash, MJF will finally return to AEW television.
What will MJF and Samoa Joe have to say to each other? It is only a few days before their AEW World title match at AEW World’s End. With two of the best talkers in all of AEW, it should be an interesting conversation for sure.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
Roderick Strong vs. Komander
On last week’s AEW Collison, Roderick Strong decided to mock Komander. Komander had failed to win the ROH World Television Championship at Final Battle. So Strong decided to challenge Komander to a match.
On this week’s AEW Dynamite, they will face off. It is a miracle Strong can compete with such a bad neck. He will face quite a challenge in the exciting Komander, who is out to prove himself after his disappointing ROH Television Championship loss.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
Saraya vs. Riho
(AEW Women’s World Championship Number One Contender’s Match)
Riho made her return from an eight-month absence on last week’s AEW Dynamite. She defeated one member of the Outcasts in Ruby Soho. She gets another shot against another member of the Outcasts in Saraya on this week’s show. It has some high stakes as well.
The winner of this match will get a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm at AEW World’s End. Both Riho and Saraya have unfinished business with the “Timeless” one. It should lead to two truly motivated competitors on Wednesday night.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
Mark Briscoe vs. Jay Lethal
(Continental Classic Gold League)
It is the battle of the winless competitors in the Gold League. Briscoe and Lethal are out of the running in the Continental Classic. But the two Ring of Honor legends certainly have a lot of pride.
These long-time friends and allies will want to not be shut out of the tournament on Wednesday night. Even though it won’t affect the tournament’s final results, it will be fun to watch these two slug it out at the Holiday Bash.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
Swerve Strickland vs. Rush
(Continental Classic Gold League)
Swerve Strickland had a heartbreaking loss to Jon Moxley last week on AEW Dynamite. It certainly looked like his shoulder was up, but the result stands. Strickland has nine points and is in desperate need of a win to make the Gold League finals next week.
He faces a very difficult test to get that all-important win. Rush will be Strickland’s opponent on the final night of Gold League. Rush has six points and is not eliminated from making the finals either at this point. It will be a physical match for sure, with two desperate competitors.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/20/23
Jon Moxley vs. Jay White
(Continental Classic Gold League)
Jon Moxley is undefeated in the Continental Classic so far. He is the only competitor in the entire tournament that can claim that. He might not even need to win on Wednesday night to make the Gold League finals. Will he be able to keep his hot streak going?
He is facing Jay White. White likely needs to win to make the Gold League Finals. Will he be the one to finally defeat Jon Moxley? It should make an entertaining end to a special tournament.
What To Expect:
- What is next for Chris Jericho after Kenny Omega’s medical news?
- Will Christian accept Adam Copeland’s challenge?
