My name is Mathew, I cover the Japanese wrestling scene outside of New Japan Pro Wrestling. My main focus will be Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling along with different smaller promotions
Unlike the FITE App, we make sure our content is in good quality from beginning to end with two new champions crowned at NJPW Royal Quest. On August 31st while NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff was going on, New Japan Pro Wrestling had a show in the UK called Royal Quest and was only live on the FITE App while the streaming service would air it sometime in September like the Super J-Cup. During this show, we had two new champions crowned at this event while Minoru Suzuki failed to defeat Okada to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. So for this…
Pro Wrestling NOAH is sure making some big changes and moves this year as we had an announcement and a surprise appearance that took place during their show on August 29th with the additions of Rhyno and Kazuyuki Fujita. Firstly, NOAH has aired a video package which announced that former WWE and current Impact Wrestling Superstar, Rhyno is going to be making his NOAH debut on the big show on September 16th. Rhyno coming to NOAH is something I would never expect to happen and it looks like he wants to come by to cross something off of his list.…
On August 22nd, 24th, and 25th, New Japan Pro Wrestling hosted the Super J-Cup but this time, this would take place in the United States instead of Japan to give their American audience something to enjoy as El Phantasmo surprised many. We had people from NJPW, ROH, CMLL, and a couple of freelancers like Amazing Red and TJP to participate in this year’s tournament where the winner would get a trophy and a future shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Our sixteen competitors were Amazing Red, TJP, El Phantasmo, SHO, YOH, Robbie Eagles, Caristico, Dragon Lee, Jonathan Gresham, Soberano…

#Review: Dragon Gate Kobe Festival 2019
It’s time to do another review for this site as I will be covering the Dragon Gate Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival, which is also the 20th anniversary of the promotion. A lot of hype went into this as we have the return of Ultimo Dragon, the website providing English commentary for the first time, and just nine matches to get the crowd hyped up. We got a lot to cover and let’s get right into it. Rating System: 0 Stars: Dave Meltzer 1 Star: Vince Russo 2 Stars: Tony Schiavone 3 Stars: Eric Bischoff 4 Stars: Bruce Prichard 5 Stars: Jim…
To get ready for tomorrow’s Dragon Gate’s big show, I thought I would talk about the main event taking place on that show and the importance of it as a whole involving PAC facing Ben-K. The name of this show is the Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival 2019 and it’s also the twentieth anniversary of Dragon Gate as a whole. Twenty years this company has been around and it’s amazing that it’s still growing strong after all this time. We have a lot of matches booked for this event along with several title matches and Ultimo Dragon coming home to wrestle in…
I can say that it’s been a crazy week for the world of professional wrestling, especially in the Japanese scene. During a press conference on July 10th, Jun Akiyama has announced that he would stepping down from his presidential role in the company. The reason behind his decision was so that he could focus more on the in-ring competition again along with keeping an eye on helping out the talent, like how Atsushi Aoki did when he was alive. Jun Akiyama took over as the president of All Japan Pro Wrestling on June 4th, 2014. During the time that AJPW…

Our last four participants were Shotaro Ashino, Daiki Inaba, Kuma Arashi, and Koji Doi. Daiki would defeat Kuma while Shotaro would defeat Koji to win their semi-final matches for them to fight off in the main event of the show, later that night. The tournament started off on the June 6th show where all four first-round matches started off to see…
On June 13th, Pro Wrestling NOAH held their 10th annual show in tribute to the great Mitsuharu Misawa and the main event of that show was the team of Takashi Sugiura and KAZMA SAKAMOTO taking on AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima) for the GHC Tag Team Championships. This match took place when Takashi and KAZMA participated in NOAH’s Global Tag League and even fought the current champions in the finals on the May 4th show where Takashi and KAZMA were able to win the match to win the Global Tag League along with getting a title opportunity. Takashi had…
