I'm a lifelong wrestling fan, announcer and commentator that lives and breathes the wrestling industry. And I am lucky enough to express my thoughts and feelings....RIGHT HERE.... at Pro Wrestling Post!
Earlier today at the New Beginning in Osaka event, NJPW announce that they will be heading back to MSG over SummerSlam weekend. The event will be called Wrestle Dynasty and will be held on Saturday, August 22. Below is the hype video that was shown – https://youtu.be/oP20ORhpsWY The last NJPW show held at Madison Square Garden was the G1 Supercard in April 2019. Held over WrestleMania weekend, it was a co-promoted event between Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. It’s mainly remembered for the “invasion” of nZo and CaZXL. As I said above, this event will be held…
Is it really the end of January already? This month has flown by! We’ve had Takeover: Blackpool II, Worlds Collide and the Royal Rumble in the last four weeks. That’s an insane amount of wrestling! And to carry on that insane-ness (it’s a word), I’m back with this week’s NXT UK Inclination. Imperium versus Mark Andrews, Flash Morgan Webster, and Dave Mastiff is the main event for today. And I have a feeling it will have implications on the NXT UK title scene. Enough hint’s let’s get on with the review! Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs The Hunt I’m…
United States Champion Andrade has reportedly been suspended by WWE officials in a story broke by Pro Wrestling Sheet. The reason being his first violation of the Wellness Policy. Ryan Satin reported that Andrade was told he was being suspended for 30 days early yesterday morning before RAW preparations began. As of the time of writing, there has been no word as of the substance he tested positive for. Andrade defended the title twice over the past two days, against the same opponent. On the Royal Rumble pre-show, he defeated Humberto Carrillo with the help of Zelina Vega. On last night’s…
On RAW last night, WWE once again used some local competitors as enhancement talent for their main roster. Both Aleister Black and Erick Rowan had matches against these local talents and below is a brief biography of the wrestlers – Aleister Black faced off against Kenneth Johnson, a 10 year veteran of the business. He has worked for the NWA, Lonestar Championship Wrestling, and Branded Outlaw Wrestling. As the tweet explains, Kenneth has worked for WWE before. He took part in the first Cruiserweight Classic in 2016 where he lost against the emerging Akira Tozawa. He also lost to TJP…
How great was Worlds Collide?! Want to see how “we” got there? Then you’re in the right place! This right here is the go-home edition of NXT UK with the main event of Banks versus Kendrick I’ll be breaking down the matches and promos/interviews that lead to Worlds Collide. Without sounding big-headed, I think I do a great job. Have a read and see for yourself. And as always, feel free to blast me on the social media! But for now, strap in and get to reading! We begin this week with what feels like an episode of RAW…an in-ring…
#Preview: WWE World’s Collide
This coming Saturday 25 January 2020, the night before the Royal Rumble, there is no NXT Takeover event. In it’s place will be a special WWE World’s Collide. It’s a special event as NXT roster members will be facing off with their NXT UK counterparts in a selection of matches. Much like Survivor Series is, World’s Collide will be for brand supremacy. Who is the better NXT? The new upstart brand, or the more established brand? Let’s take a look at the match card and see if we can predict the winners of this one night only event – Ilja…
I’m still on a comedown from last week’s Takeover: Blackpool II. In particular, that Devlin/ Bate match. Oh wow! But before I lax lyrical about that match and the event itself, it’s worth knowing that two other matches took place before Takeover aired. And those matches form the basis of today’s review. Joseph Conners versus A-Kid and Dave mastiff faces off against Kassius Ohno. Can you all guess which one I’m looking forward to? 😉 The show began with a simple In Memory of Rocky Johnson. Such sad sad news. A brief rundown of what took place at Takeover: Blackpool…
Over the last few hours, Ring of Honor has announced more talent for their Lakeland, Florida shows on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Already announced were “Switchblade” Jay White and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay. Many wondered if these talents could mean that more NJPW talent would appear on RoH shows. And it certainly seems so. As RoH tweeted these tweets – https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1218256162304528387 https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1218609130249703424 https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1218307106274775041 Following Bullet Club leader Jay White to Lakeland will be El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, and KENTA. With Ospreay aligned with CHAOS in NJPW, could we possibly see Kazuchika Okada in Florida over Mania weekend?…
#News: Taz Signs Deal With AEW
ECW, WWE, TNA…now add AEW to Taz’s list of employers. Taz was once again a guest announcer at last night’s AEW Dark taping at the Watsco Center in Miami. And as soon as he had finished announcing, he went backstage and signed on the dotted line with All Elite Wrestling as the tweet below shows – https://twitter.com/AEWrestling/status/1217838923050881027 In the video, Taz is seen signing his multi-year contract with Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes and the company’s Vice President of Business Strategy Chris Harrington. It’s just a few weeks removed from Taz leaving his radio talk show on CBS Radio, Taz…
I don’t know about yourselves, but I adore the Royal Rumble! It is so different from any other WWE PPV, or any wrestling PPV actually. It is the start of the Road To WrestleMania and the 8-10 week build to the Grandest Stage Of Them All. We’re just a few weeks away from this year’s Royal Rumble folks! And I cannot wait. Why I hear you ask?… Well, I’m glad you did. The biggest thing for me, the absolute number one thing that gets me each and every year…are the surprise entrants for the Rumble match itself. Whether it’s AJ…
