AEW Rampage for 4/15/22 (Page vs Cole II)
This week’s preview of AEW Rampage is for the week of 4/15/22. It features three matches, as typical with the show. But with Battle of the Belts taking place this coming Saturday, what takes place on this show could foreshadow what fans can anticipate on April 16th. On this week’s show, fans can anticipate another women’s qualifier match for the Owen Hart Foundation, a trios match involving a father and son’s trio against a newly built faction, and an AEW World Championship Texas Deathmatch. On April 13th, 1990, the Wrestling Summit event took place. The event was a co-produced and written event between the WWE, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. The WWE and NJPW had worked together throughout the 1970s and 1980s together. It was also the only time these three promotions collaborated on a single show. Unfortunately, while there was a reported 53,700 plus in attendance, the video of the entire event is not available. It was later confirmed that the event in actually had 43,000 paid in attendance. On the upcoming NXT 2.0 for 4/12/22, as few as two matches are announced for the show! While there were three previously announced, that was reduced to two with questions remaining about the third match. On Saturday, April 2nd, the WWE presents NXT Stand and Deliver 2022. The event will be held on the same day as night one of WrestleMania. It is hard to pick one to look forward to with seven matches on the card. All NXT titles are on the line in what looks like a fun show. In the case of one match, we will see former frienemies come together. ROH Supercard of Honor
On Friday, April 1st, Ring of Honor Wrestling presents ROH Supercard of Honor. The event features six matches with several titles up for grabs. As the first event under the new regime of Tony Khan, questions appear to be asked before the event and likely after the event as well. The event has a nice mix of notable names on the independent circuit and one’s that have been on television competing with other major promotions. On April 7th, 1986 the WWF presented WrestleMania 2. The event emanated from three different cities in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Vince McMahon welcomes everyone to WrestleMania from New York City. He then introduces Susan St. James who will be his co-host for the evening. Only two matches have been officially announced for this week’s NXT 2.0 for 3/22/22. However, tensions are also running high, with matches appearing to take shape with NXT Stand and Deliver also on tap. Additionally, it seems as though Tomasso Ciampa and Tony D’Angelo are headed for a one-on-one matchup, along with Gunther and LA Knight and The Creed Brothers and Imperium. Although at the same time, those matches don’t appear to be taking place this week, that isn’t to say that they won’t happen.
