AEW Rampage for 4/15/22 (Page vs Cole II)

This week’s preview of AEW Rampage is for the week of 4/15/22. It features three matches, as typical with the show. But with Battle of the Belts taking place this coming Saturday, what takes place on this show could foreshadow what fans can anticipate on April 16th.

On this week’s show, fans can anticipate another women’s qualifier match for the Owen Hart Foundation, a trios match involving a father and son’s trio against a newly built faction, and an AEW World Championship Texas Deathmatch.

Of all the matches scheduled to take place, fans are likely most intrigued by the world title match. Rampage is the second of three televised shows AEW will be producing this week. With AEW’s Double or Nothing pay per view set to take place shortly, it is anyone’s guess what will happen next. Which match are you most excited for on this week’s edition of AEW Rampage?

The next qualifying match in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament continues. This time around, we will see Ruby Soho face Robyn Renegade. Soho has appeared more so on AEW Dark and Elevation but returns to television this week. Ruby’s absence from Dynamite and Rampage has been a topic of discussion lately. But for those wishing she would appear back on screen, well, she is this Friday.

For Renegade, very little is documented about her and her emergence in AEW’s women’s division. Is this the match that helps to propel Soho forward both on-screen and as a threat or will Robyn Renegade advance in this tournament?

A new allegiance faces a family. For Colton and Austin Gunn, they are backed by their father, who has always led by example. As stated in the bracket above, the Gunn’s are undefeated as a trio. But they have their work cut out for them as they stand across the ring from BCC that now includes Wheeler Yuta. If we are assured one thing, it is this collection of talents’ ability to stretch, tear, scrap, rip and fight their opposition.

As it is quickly becoming apparent, the Blackpool Combat Club are as committed to suffering as they are making their opposition suffer. If there is ever a time when Billy Gunn won’t be able to protect Austin and Colten, it would be here.

Could this match be a prelude to future trios champions in AEW?

It all ends here. These two have battled and battled and battled. A relationship that was once one where both men had a mutual respect for one another is gone. It is all but a distant memory since both were part of the Bullet Club in Ring of Honor. Ironically it was Hangman Page whose inclusion in Bullet Club flew under the radar. Now Page is the one front and center as he battles the man aspiring to become the AEW World Champion.

While the likeliness of shenanigans from reDRagon is very possible, Page can be comforted that someone is watching his back in Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. The time to stop talking is now, and the time to battle is here. With the threat of another challenger for the AEW World Champion likely looming, the fight to determine who moves into Double or Nothing as the champion will be decided.

What To Expect

  • CM Punk confronts the winner of the AEW World Title Match
  • Marina Shafir makes Jade Cargill feel threatened for the first time in her title reign
  • Final comments leading into Battle of the Belts are made for the TNT, AEW Women’s, and Ring of Honor World Title.
