WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 Preview

The WWE returns this year, this time in Glasgow, Scotland with WWE Clash at the Castle 2024. The event was wildly successful two years ago.

Will it live up to expectations? Let’s take a look at the announced card. All five matches are title matches.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat
Bianca Belair/Jade Cargill (c) vs. Shayna Baszler/Zoey Stark vs. Isla Dawn/Alba Fyre

The current champions of Belair/Cargill want to take on all comers and agreed to this triple-threat match.

Baszler and Stark had a really good match against the champions on Raw a couple of weeks back, but that match was ruined when Dawn and Fyre interjected themselves into the match.

Baszler has had success as a tag team champion before. Can she recapture the gold with a different partner? Dawn and Fyre are also former tag team champions.

Can they get back on track by capturing the titles? The champs, Belair and Cargill, have been very impressive since capturing the titles. Will their run continue?

WWE Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven

Scotland’s own Piper Niven gets a shot at the title in Scotland. Niven told Bayley that she wanted a chance, so she’ll get it in her home country. Will the hometown girl be able to pull off the win? Can Bayley find a way to retain against the much bigger Niven?

WWE Intercontinental Championship:
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable

Chad Gable has been on a mission lately. He wants to capture the Intercontinental Championship and has shown that he will do anything to get it. In recent matches, Gable has been pushing Alpha Academy to help him do his unhanded bidding.

Will this continue? Will Alpha Academy get tired of Gable’s antics/abuse and leave the academy? Can Gable finally pull off the biggest win of his career and capture singles gold? Will Sami Zayn find a way to topple Gable and free the Academy?

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024
World Heavyweight Championship
Damien Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has been obsessed with recapturing the World Heavyweight Championship after losing the title to Damian Priest at WrestleMania when Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract after CM Punk beat down McIntyre.

McIntyre is also Scottish, so this is a home game for him. Can the Scottish Warrior reclaim his spot on the throne? Will Priest continue to reign supreme?

Will the Judgment Day figure into the outcome? Is CM Punk and/or Liv Morgan going to make an appearance as well and help decide the outcome of the match?

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024
Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles

Rhodes and Styles are coming off a fantastic match at Backlash in Lyon, France. Styles faked out Rhodes a couple of weeks ago on Smackdown, leading to a brutal attack.

That attack set up our rematch in Scotland. This time, the stakes have been upped. Rhodes/Styles II will be an “I Quit” match.

Can Styles be successful the second time around? Will the American Nightmare top the Phenomenal One one more time? Who will utter those words, “I quit!”?
