It was certainly a back and forth affair. But in the end, it was The Hurt Business that captures the RAW Tag Team Championships. Over the past few weeks, we have seen a growing rivalry between Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. Their rivalry culminated with a match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. While it wasn’t their first matchup against one another, it was the one that determined who would become the RAW Tag Team Champions.

It was recently that the two teams faced each other that saw the New Day victorious. However, in the weeks that followed, Cedric Alexander proved to be the one that would defeat both Kingston and Woods. Albeit it was in singles action, they still won, and in both instances, Alexander looked impressive in the process. Despite losing in the past, The Hurt Business wouldn’t allow this to take place once again. This was the case of Alexander and Benjamin finally captured the championships.

It was earlier in the match when Woods and Kingston appeared to have control over the challengers. Whether it was frequent tags or taking out the man on the apron, Kingston and Woods were in control. Several crossbody and strikes on the part of either Kingston or Woods certainly made a statement. As the match was approaching its closing moments, Kingston appeared as though he would withstand the attack. Whether it was from Benjamin or Woods, Kingston was showing why he is a multi-time champion. A superplex by Benjamin was thwarted by Xavier Woods, who broke up the count at two.

With Woods in the ring, Alexander would come in and Xavier Woods out of the match. Benjamin then proceeds to return to the ring apron. Benjamin appeared as though he could smell blood. The commentators would even say that Benjamin thinks he can finish off Kingston with one final move. What would happen is Alexander would tag himself in, much to the surprise of Benjamin. As soon as Benjamin comes into the ring he immediately goes to Kingston and hits him with the Lumbar Check and follows that up with a cover for the one..two…three. Benjamin and Alexander are the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions. This championship win is Benjamin’s first tag team championship win he held the title alongside Charlie Haas as part of the World’s Greatest Tag Team.
