On Friday, January 24th AAW Pro presents its upcoming A New Dawn event. Emanating from the Logan Square Auditorium from Chicago, Illinois the promotion has seven announced matches on tap. Among the featured matches include the AAW Pro Tag Team Championship involving Besties in the World against the duo of Curt Stallion and Jake Something. Also, former three-time AAW Pro Heavyweight Champion and one-third of oVe Sami Callihan teams with Jake Crist to face Juventud Guerrera and Aramis. Fans can also anticipate seeing the likes of Killer Kross, Nate Webb, Karam, and Air Wolf at the show.

    Willie Mack vs AR Fox

This is sure to be a fun contest. In fact, even AAW Pro social media is asking the same question. Could this match be the show-stealer of the night? The thirteen-year pro, who wrestles an all-round style steps back into an AAW Pro ring since last August’s Jim Lynam Memorial tournament. On that night he lost to then-champion, Jake Something for the AAW Pro Heritage Title.

This time around he steps into the ring with AR Fox. One half of the tandem The Skulk alongside Leon Ruff, Fox brings his high-flying style back to AAW Pro. The biggest difference between the two is that Mack brings his size giving him a slight advantage in that department. Fans should situp and take notice of this matchup between these two exceptional talents.

    ACH vs. Fred Yehi

Its a new dawn, its a new day, and ACH and Fred Yehi are feeling alright. ACH returns to AAW Pro Wrestling and this time around he faces the consonant technician in Fred Yehi. A seven-year pro, the Resurrector Of Wrestling returns to AAW Pro since he defeated Eddie Edwards at last year’s Hell Hath No Fury. This time around he faces a man he is no stranger to.

In fact, this is the first singles match these two have had against one another since they faced one another at EVOLVE 88. They are certainly a contrast in styles as Yehi brings a more ground-based offense where he uses more submission maneuvers whereas ACH tends to rely on more high-flying moves. Who walks away from this third encounter between them?

    Jordan Oliver vs Jake Lander

Another fun match slated for this evening as a four-year pro, Jake Lander steps into the ring with one-third of the faction Injustice, Jordan Oliver. Oliver gained notoriety last month during his matchup against Blake Christian at GCW’s Jimmy All The Way. Oliver’s rise has been meteoric. Between 2018 and 2019 alone he competed in 50 more matches between all the companies that he had been affiliated with.

This time around he steps into the ring with Lander who returns to AAW Pro for the first time since Unstoppable 2019 where he teamed with Travis Titan in a tag team match against Ace Austin and Clayton Gainz. In Oliver, fans that haven’t seen him compete before can anticipate a high-flying offense from the twenty-year-old at A New Dawn.

    AAW Tag Team Championship Match

Besties in the World (c) vs. Curt Stallion and Jake Something

As the only title on the line of the evening, a number of eyes will be focused on this matchup. In what has become an alliance between the former WRSTLING faction members Something and Stallion come together to challenge Fitchett and Vega. The current and three-time AAW Pro tag team champions look to continue on their reign as champions. This match will be the second time the Besties in the World defend their titles against Something and Stallion.

Despite it nearly being two years since they faced one another at 2018’s Path of Redemption that doesn’t mean a thing now. Both teams are hungry and this match will certainly showcase who among them will walk out as the champions and who likely will have to think about what went wrong.

    AAW Pro Heritage Championship Rematch

    Hakim Zane vs. PACO

With frustration in his eyes, PACO is out for revenge as he faces Hakim Zane. Last month, Zane defeated PACO to capture the AAW Heritage Championship. In a match that was fairly straight forward until the end, PACO looks to recapture the title. The biggest caveat of this rematch is likely whether or not Karam will play a factor in this matchup between them both.

He was a factor at Windy City Classic and it was what led to PACO’s defeat. The question is whether or not PACO is able to find an equalizer for him at ringside. This or whether the referee of the match is watching him closely to ensure there isn’t a repeat at A New Dawn.

Jessick Havok and Kimber Lee vs. Savanna Stone and Hyan

Two former AAW Pro Women’s champions face off against a Reality of Wrestling trainee and Elgin Training System trainee. Both Stone and Hyan give up a great deal in experience against Havok and Lee. One question that fans have to be asking is will Lee and Havok be able to coexist.

With both of their sights on the AAW Pro Women’s Championship, the question is will one of them undercut the other in order to leave an impression? Hyan and Stone are both looking to make a name for themselves and this could very well be the match that helps achieve that. They will have their work cut out for them stepping into the ring with these two veterans at A New Dawn.

oVe vs. Juventud Guerrera and Aramis

Two-thirds of oVe come together to face Lucha legend Juventud Guerrera and the debuting Aramis. Former AAW Pro Champion Sami Callihan and cohort Jake Crist will have their work cut out for them. It will be a real difference in styles as the high-flying antics of Aramis and Juvi. Both Latin talents can take claim to using the 450 splash as a finisher and could hit this at any time.

In the case of oVe, Jake Crist is also able of hitting some outstanding high-flying moves himself. For Sami Callihan, the draw will sacrifice as much of himself as he would his opponent. With fire in his eyes and a desire to cause unspeakable harm to Juventud and Aramis, one has to wonder what exactly oVe has in store for their opponents at A New Dawn.
