#NEWS: Second Match for AEW on TNT Announced

Yesterday, it was announced that Cody and Sammy Guevara would square off in the first episode of AEW on TNT, today was the second match. From there, fans speculated what the rest of the card for All Elite Wrestling’s inaugural TV episode would look like. Fans won’t have to wonder much longer, though, as it was formally announced that a six-man tag team match will also take place. The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, known collectively as The Elite, will challenge Chris Jericho and two partners that have yet to be announced.

Omega and Jericho are no strangers to one another. On top of their showdown at Wrestle Kingdom 12, which took place in January of last year, they faced off at AEW Double or Nothing. In the latter affair, Jericho defeated Omega for a chance to become the first-ever AEW World Champion. Nonetheless, Omega went on to win future AEW matches, not only at Fyter Fest but Fight for the Fallen. Omega hasn’t forgotten what transpired at Double or Nothing, which will make this upcoming six-man tag team match that much more chaotic.

AEW will hold the first episode of its weekly TV show on October 2nd, live on TNT.

Sutter’s Synopsis: Any match that features The Elite, whether in singles or tag team action, will undoubtedly have the wrestling world talking. Omega and The Young Bucks are no strangers to high-stakes tag team affairs, evidenced by such victories as the one over The Lucha Brothers, Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix, and Laredo Kid at Fyter Fest.

What remains a mystery that fans will continue to talk about, until they’re revealed, are the identities of Jericho’s tag team partners. This can go a number of ways. It can be argued that, due to their ongoing feud with The Young Bucks and their upcoming match at All Out, Jericho will enlist the help of The Lucha Brothers. Perhaps Jericho will recruit a less expected tandem, like Angelico and Jack Evans, granting them the spotlight instead.

Whatever the case may be, the first episode of AEW on TNT is shaping up to be a thrilling one including this second match.
