United States Champion Andrade has reportedly been suspended by WWE officials in a story broke by Pro Wrestling Sheet. The reason being his first violation of the Wellness Policy.
Ryan Satin reported that Andrade was told he was being suspended for 30 days early yesterday morning before RAW preparations began. As of the time of writing, there has been no word as of the substance he tested positive for.
Andrade defended the title twice over the past two days, against the same opponent. On the Royal Rumble pre-show, he defeated Humberto Carrillo with the help of Zelina Vega. On last night’s RAW, Vega once again involved herself in the match, giving Andrade another tainted victory. Carrillo snapped after the match and hit Andrade with his own Hammerlock DDT onto exposed concrete. The actions of Carrillo after the match was a way to write Andrade off TV.
This isn’t the first instance of a Wellness Policy suspension recently from WWE. Just last month Robert Roode and Primo Colon were suspended for 30 days for their first violation.
Blake’s Take – Are WWE coming down hard on performers? Or are the performers more lax in what they put into their bodies? I’m not sure either way. There are also rumors that Charlotte Flair could be negatively affected by Andrade’s suspension. I’m sorry but what a crock! Out of the pair, she is the one that is held in higher regard. Unless Andrade did something really awful, Charlotte will still be going to WrestleMania to face one of the champions.
