On Friday, April 15th, 2022 it was Chaotic Wrestling’s biggest event of the year, Cold Fury! The card was stacked, and the matches were show-stopping as Chaotic Wrestling presented Cold Fury 20. All of the stars of Chaotic brought their A-Game. We had a few title matches as well as some match stipulations, like the I Love You To Death Match and the Steel Cage Match for the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. If you missed the show, you definitely missed out.
I Love You To Death Match –
Love, Doug vs. Ace Romero
To kick off Cold Fury 20, we had Ace Romero of The Unit taking on the beloved Love Doug! The ring was littered with weapons; we saw a door, a trash can, rose petals (Doug’s trademark), chairs, kendo sticks, and later in the match, we found out that the trash can was full of thumbtacks which Romero would later spill into the ring. Early on in the match, we saw Romero dominating Doug.
We saw Doug quickly become busted open and bloodied. Mid-match, there was a turning point where we saw Doug take control of the match. This match saw Romero put Doug through the door, and both men drop from the turnbuckle into a puddle of thumbtacks. At the end of the brutal battle, we saw Love Doug emerge victorious.
Chaotic New England Championship – Triple Threat Match – Brad Cashew vs. Mortar vs. Ricky Smokes
Our first title match of the night featured defending champion Ricky Smokes taking on Brad Cashew and Mortar. This match was very action-packed and looked like it could go in any direction. Cashew definitely made it known that he wanted to regain his title, and Mortar was very determined to pick up the title. All three athletes were bringing their all. At one point, it looked like Cashew was on the way to regaining his title before the pin was broken up.
Mortar also had a moment where he was cleaning house and looked like he was on his way to victory. But, when all was said and done, it was the reigning champion who ended up walking away victorious with a pin over Mortar.

Chaotic Pan-Optic Championship –
Flip Gordon vs. Aaron Rourke
In our second title match of the evening, we saw Flip Gordon challenge, Aaron Rourke for his Pan-Optic Championship after some growing tension over the last couple of shows. Both of the men are very quick and certainly not afraid of the top rope. This match had some incredible displays of athleticism. Flip Gordon did not disappoint with his flips, and Rourke brought the fight hard.
The match went back as forth as both men had points where they were in control. At one point, Flip pinned Rourke and was declared the victor and new champion; until senior official Kevin Quinn pointed out that Rourke’s foot was on the rope. The match was restarted, and Rourke went hard and ended up picking up momentum and taking the win to retain his title.
Gal Barkay & Paris Van Dale vs. Armani Kayos & Shannon Levangie
Originally this match was scheduled to be a singles match between the two former Higher Society members, Armani Kayos and Paris Van Dale. However, after entering the ring, Paris Van Dale, who was accompanied by the “Israeli Superstar” Gal Barkay, stated it would be a mixed tag match between the two of them and the “Kaytastic One” Armani Kayos and the “Troublemaker” Shannon Levangie, who has accompanied Kayos to the ring.
Another match with incredible flexibility and agility on display. We had seen tension between these two since Van Dale slapped Kayos and turned her back on his to align herself with Barkay. While Kayos and Levangie did bring quite a fight ultimately, the “Israeli Superstar” and Van Dale would walk away victorious.
“The Prize” Alec Price vs. “Alternative” Anthony Greene
Two of the top wrestlers on the independent scene and the wrestling world in general collided in this match. We saw Alec Price and Anthony Greene go head to head. Both of these guys are very accomplished in the ring and have been making a splash all over the independent scene, not just in New England. It was certainly a treat to the Chaotic fans. Greene and Price both have such agility and top rope skill.
We saw an incredible display of both strength and speed in this match. The crowd seemed to be torn as throughout the match. There were cheers for both Price and Greene. However, at the end of the bout, it was Price who walked away as the winner.

Chaotic Tag Team Championship – Six-Man Tag Team Match Vincent, Dutch, & Matt Taven vs. The Unit (Danny Miles, Trigga the OG, & Mike Verna)
In the third title match of the night, we saw the Righteous, Vincent, and Dutch aligned with Matt Taven taking on the reigning Chaotic Tag Team Champions The Unit, Danny Miles, Trigga the OG, and Mike Verna. This match was nice because after the match, Vincent reminded the audience that he and Matt Taven had been Chaotic Tag Team champions together previously.
It was cool to see former champions back in action against the reigning champions. The match volleyed back and forth at one point; Vincent, Dutch, and Taven looked like they would be walking away with the gold after getting complete control over The Unit. But, in the end, The Unit walked away with their titles. This was one of the only positive parts of the night for The Unit.

Steel Cage Match – Chaotic Heavyweight Championship – Davienne vs. JT Dunn
The main event of the event was no doubt just that. We saw former Heavyweight Champion Davienne on the war path to regain her cold and take JT Dunn out. Over the course of the year we have seen these two stars in an ongoing feud for quite a while now. Both Davienne and JT brutalized each other with chairs, doors, and the steel cage itself. JT’s stablemates in The Unit tried to interfere but he sent them away.
At the end of a battle of blows between the two, Davienne ended up bringing the fight to JT and ended up locking him into a submission where he was forced to tap out. Davienne proved again that she is indeed the history maker, picking another reign as Chaotic Heavyweight champion!
