Cage Match Night. When Impact Pro Wrestling fans last saw Miss Frankie Jay, she was walking out of the Platform Night Club in Des Moines as IPW Women’s Champion. She had just emerged victorious in a no disqualification triple threat match with the Hale twins, Briar, and Sage.
These three women have defined the IPW women’s division for the past three years and they are ready to write the next chapter in their ongoing saga over the Women’s Championship.
This Saturday night, at the Countryside Wedding and Events Center in Knoxville, Iowa, they meet again. Only this time it will be in the confines of a steel cage. This marks only the third time women of IPW have entered the cage. The common denominator in the prior cage matches, Miss Frankie Jay.
“I love that I get to be in the cage again. It’s an unforgiving structure and I’m excited to use it to punish the women who think they can take my belt away from me.” – Miss Frankie Jay
For Briar and Sage Hale, this will be their first time stepping inside a steel cage. But neither is intimidated or afraid of entering the structure and both are laser focused on winning what was once held by both, the IPW Women’s Championship.
“I’m excited to enter the steel cage and show everyone that I can be the Women’s Champion again. It will be all complete chaos with nowhere to run.” – Briar Hale
“I have no thoughts on entering the steel cage. It just gives me the opportunity to show that I will do anything to win.” – Sage Hale
This three-way rivalry began at the IPW Vault in Collins, Iowa when Miss Frankie Jay was showing the rookie sisters the ropes. It has traveled from the Forte Center to the Platform nightclub, and they even made a stop at Madhouse Wrestling for a title defense.
Now with the cage as the setting, this feud has a sense of finality. Both Hale twins see this as an opportunity to get back on top of the mountain in IPW.
“It would mean to alot to me to be able show everyone that I am just the better women.” – Sage Hale
“Winning the IPW Women’s Championship back would be the perfect way to end my first match of 2023. It would mean everything to me to be able to hold that belt again.” – Briar Hale
As for Miss Frankie Jay, this could be a legacy defining moment, one she isn’t going to let pass by.
“A victory would cement my legacy as the greatest woman wrestler IPW has ever had. I’m not afraid of Sage. I’m not afraid of Briar. I’m not afraid of the cage, I have no doubt I will be victorious.”
The IPW Women’s Championship Match headlines what will be an exciting night of Impact Pro Wrestling action. One which will set the course for IPW for 2023 and beyond. Let’s take a look at the rest of the card.

IPW Heavyweight Championship Match
James Jeffries © vs Sparrow
The falling out between former tag team partners James Jeffries and Sparrow happened nearly four years ago. It was during a triple threat match for the IPW Championship where their friendship came to a violent end.
On that night, neither man was able to wrangle the IPW Title from the clutches of the Big Picture. With frustration setting in, Sparrow viciously attacked his brother-in-law after the match.
The two tried settling their grudge at the Forte Center, but even that historic venue couldn’t contain their hatred. Their feud carried into 2020 and was a focal point of the IPW Vault Era during the COVID pandemic.
It was there where Sparrow threw a fireball into his former friend’s face. Now this Saturday, their long-standing feud reignites at the two meet again, this time with the IPW Championship on the line.
There is no cage involved in this one, but if this match is anything like their previous encounters, IPW fans can expect them to fight all around the Countryside Wedding and Event Center.

IPW Extreme Championship Triple Threat Cage Match
Cole Cannon © vs Gable Galileo vs Bryce Jordyn
Three of IPW’s top young stars step inside the cage this Saturday with extreme intentions in mind. Cole Cannon won the IPW Extreme Championship back at the IPW George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame show.
He won a multi-man scramble match that included IPW Extreme icon Malice and one of his opponents this Saturday, Gable Galileo. Months later, Cannon and Galileo, a former Extreme Champion himself, had one hell of an extreme match during the Forte Farewell show.
Kendo sticks, potatoes, chairs, tacks and all types of plunder were used throughout. This Saturday, these two foes are joined by former IPW Champion Bryce Jordyn inside the unforgiving structure. Each has their own expectations entering the cage.
“I’ve never been more excited. Nowhere to run, time to knuckle up, prove to everyone how tough I am and what I’m willing to put myself through to stay champ.” – Cole Cannon
“I’ve already shown that I’m not afraid of being put through hell to get what I want. I’ve been inside a steel cage match before. I know what to prepare for. My opponents have never been in a steel cage and they aren’t ready.” – Gable Galileo
“It may be my first time stepping in a cage but it isn’t my first time going through hell. And as far as I’m concerned hell was easy.” – Bryce Jordyn
With the extreme limits these three are willing to go, this match has IPW “Match of the Year” contender written all over it.

IPW Tag Team Championship Match
Justin Decent & The Death Dealer © vs Matty Star & “The Lone Diamond” Jaxon King
Justin Decent and the Death Dealer have been the definition of fighting champions. Whether fending off former champions the Max Chill Mafia, or winning multi-team showdowns like during the Hall of Fame show, Decent and Dealer won’t shy away from a fight.
Saturday in Knoxville, the champs put the straps on the line once again, against arguably the most unique pairing they’ve come across. Over the past few years, Jaxon King has been a thorn in the side of Matty Star and his cohorts like Sparrow and captain of the Yacht Club, Midnight Guthrie.
The rivals have met in a plethora of matches and now this Saturday the enemy of my enemy is my friend when they go after tag team gold together. In a match card full of exciting matches, this one is easily the most intriguing.
Can the odd couple pairing of Star and King win the gold or will Decent and the Dealer continue their reign at the top?

First Time Ever
The Big Picture vs “The Unsolved Mistery” JT Energy
Since returning to Impact Pro Wrestling last year, JT Energy has faced off with a pair of IPW’s franchise players in AJ Smooth and Matty Star. Saturday night in Knoxville, he makes it number three when he goes one-on-one with former IPW Champion, the Big Picture.
That’s the longest reigning IPW Champion of all-time, Big Picture. Two of Iowa’s most charismatic veterans of the game, meeting for the very first time.
Both men have the same goal in mind, winning the IPW Championship and a win Saturday could be the next step towards that opportunity. This is a sleeper candidate for “Match of the Night”.

Singles Match
Max Chill vs Viktor Payn
This contest features two men with something to prove. Max Chill, after a successful tag team championship run in “Everyone’s Favorite Trio” the Max Chill Mafia, is on his own now.
Chill is determined to carve a championship singles legacy and win over a man the size of Viktor Payn, would be a huge feather in his ringleader top hat. Viktor Payn has put in some impressive performances in some of IPW’s most recent multi-man matches and battle royals.
Now he’s ready to use that same aggression to put the IPW locker room on notice. His path of destruction could begin Saturday night.
Impact Pro Wrestling ended 2022 with a bang and with the matches scheduled for Saturday night, they look to be beginning 2023 with another exciting show.
