This week’s preview of AEW Rampage for 9/9/22 comes on the heels of an interesting edition of AEW’s All Out and Dynamite. On this past week’s edition of Dynamite, we saw a both the Trios and World Championships vacated, new Trios Champions crowned, and a tournament to determine the new AEW Champion.

On this week’s edition of Rampage, we have three matches scheduled to take place this coming week. Two of those matches are either championship matches or what will lead to a new champion being crowned. The third match is a battle between two longtime veterans. Of the three matches announced, which ones are you most looking forward to? Here is the AEW Rampage preview for 9/9/22.

    ROH World Championship
    Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dax Harwood

In the weeks leading up to this match, Harwood has earned the right to challenge for a championship. Week in and week out, Harwood has been considered one of AEW’s top in-ring performers. While also being a current co-holder of the AAA, ROH, and IWGP World tag team titles in FTR with Cash Wheeler, something could be said about being successful alone.

In Claudio Castagnoli, fans have someone that has long been determined to hold a world championship. It does appear as though Castagnoli is being primed to be the face of Ring of Honor moving forward.

    Serena Deeb vs. Madison Rayne

Two women that have had several years of wrestling experience behind them go one on one on this week’s edition of Rampage. Since we last saw the Professor of Wrestling, Serena Deeb was challenging for the ROH Women’s Champion. But since then, she hasn’t been in contention for any title.

In Madison Rayne, she has been met with mixed reviews of her matches since coming to AEW. She faces someone that is far more polished than the likes of Jade Cargill or Red Velvet. Now is her opponents that have made those matches less than desirable or simply having to adjust to a new environment.

    We’ll Hear from Samoa Joe

After the Wardlow and FTR win over the Motor City Machine Guns and Jay Lethal, Samoa Joe came out to put one Sonjay Dutt in his place. As the Ring of Honor Television Champion, the question is who will step up and be the next challenger for the Samoan Submission Machine.

Since becoming the ROH Television Champion, Joe hasn’t had a number of challengers. But a healthy ROH TV Champion does lend itself a number of interesting and exciting possibilities.

    Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin

On this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced by Tony Khan that the AEW World Title was going to be vacated. What that prompted was a tournament to determine the new AEW World Title. So while both Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley have been granted by’s to the semi-finals, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, Bryan Danielson, and Hangman Page made up the two quarterfinal matches.

We know that Bryan Danielson has advanced to face Chris Jericho in one semi-final. It is the winner of this match that will face Jon Moxley. Guevara and Allin have captured the TNT Championships and are ready to move to the next level. We are assured that both men will take each other to the limit that they have time and time again. So who walks out to face Moxley? Tune in Friday evening to see.

    What To Expect

    • The second semi-final match for the AEW World Championship will be decided.
    • The Acclaimed and Swerve in our Glory will address their upcoming AEW Tag Team Championship match.
    • Death Triangle addresses the crowd after becoming the new AEW Trios Champions.

As this week’s edition comes on the heels of All Out and Dynamite, please share with us what you expect to happen on this week’s in the comment section below.
