As we approach the end of the year, WWE’s NXT brand has a number of things in store. As NXT’s 2020 draws to a close, the brand doesn’t appear to be taking its foot off the gas. With only one week remaining, NXT has a number of things in store this week. With it being a couple of weeks away from New Year’s Evil fans can anticipate a Street Fight, a grudge match, a Christmas ‘special’, and a return in this week’s preview of WWE NXT for 12/23/20. Among those mentioned, will we witness new NXT Tag Team Champions from an unlikely duo? Will mutual respect emerge between two of NXT’s rising stars? What will A Very Gargano Christmas consist of?

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. Killian Dain and Drake Maverick

NXT’s resident odd couple come together for a common goal, the NXT Tag Team Championships. Fans will recall that Dain suffered a beating at the hands of the Kings of NXT a few weeks ago. It was only a matter of time before things would come to a head. Maverick and Dain have typically appeared at odds (more so because of Dain’s teammate’s relentless beatings) but appear to have put that behind them. This is a case where Maverick and Dain can threaten for the championships. For fans that may not be aware, the narrative that has emerged has been one in which Maverick has spent his time attempting to convince Dain of what they could be!

How will Lorcan and Burch respond to this duo? While they may appear to be on different pages, they may be more cohesive than they appear? Tune in to this Street Fight to find out if Dain and Maverick rise to the occasion.

Will Swerve prove that Atlas' win was only a fluke?

Jake Atlas vs. Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott

In this rematch, could we see the breaking point of one man and the rise of the other? Scott requested that this match take place, and it will on the 12/23/20 edition of NXT. A few weeks ago, these two men met with Atlas coming out victorious. The story that emerged was after the match. What should have been a show of mutual respect for a match that showcased both men’s skills turned into one offering his hand and the other refusing to shake it. While it could have very well have been due to his own frustration, that doesn’t ignore the fact that Scott decided to walk away from Atlas after losing the match.

"The Colossal" Bronson Reed returns this week on NXT

    Bronson Reed Returns!

The return of Bronson Reed certainly suggests that the NXT roster is on notice. The Aussie-thick boy is set to make a triumphant return to NXT. Upon his return, who will he have in his cross-hairs? Could he threaten for the NXT North American Championship NXT Championship or look to settle old scores against the likes of Cameron Grimes. Whoever stands in his way best be sure that Reed won’t relent and is sure to look for blood upon his return. His return leads to some fun scenarios possibly being played out. The NXT roster best be aware of what comes ahead.

    A Very Gargano Christmas

As advertised, The Power Couple and leaders of The Way present something they are calling a Christmas Special. What exactly that will consist of and what it involves has yet to be revealed. However, if past altercations with NXT talent are likely to be a part of this ‘special’ look for the likes of Shotzi Blackheart, Damien Priest, and Leon Ruff all playing a part in this. Will Austin Theory and Indi Hartwell, in some way, put themselves before Candice LaRae and Johnny Gargano? We could see Ghostface make a return, but it not be who The Way thinks it is under those masks.
