The upcoming episode of WWE NXT 2.0 for 7/19/22 features one match for the show. But that one match has major implications for what is to come. As it stands, a 20-woman Battle Royal is scheduled. That match is set to determine the next challenger for Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship. But for all that this matches results have implicated for it, the biggest question going into this week isn’t what is to come but what was!

Last week’s program ended with the turn of Cora Jade on Roxanne Perez. With only one match officially slated to take place, the question is, what else could possibly take place on the program?

What had emerged over the past few weeks as a rivalry between Toxic Attraction, Cora Jade, and Roxanne Perez has become something more. Unfortunately, what fans thought could have been the coronation of Roxanne Perez in NXT became nothing more than a moment of betrayal for one-half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

20-Woman Battle Royal set to determine top contender for NXT Women’s Title

After defeating Roxanne Perez last week for the NXT Women’s Championship, Mandy Rose awaits her next challenger for the title. In leading up to last week’s main event, a number of women denied having anything to do with the attack on Perez. But what it did do was give potential contenders for the title an opportunity to step forward and put themselves in a prominent spot in the division.

So while it all came about that it was Cora Jade that turned on Roxanne Perez costing her a chance at the championship, it has opened the door for so many others. Whether it be Lash Legend, Nikki Lyons, Tatum Paxley, Ivy Niles, or even Cora Jade, the threats for the women’s championship are countless.

Of the 20 women in the battle royal, who are the ones fans can look towards to being the biggest threats to winning the match. It would be hard to deny that Roxanne Perez is still very much in contention to win the battle royal; she does have a bullseye on her back. However, Cora Jade has her sights set on Perez and will stop now at nothing to ensure she doesn’t win the battle royal.

But if Jade is determined to stop Perez, then the same could be said about Perez stopping Jade. So if both women cancel each other out, who else could be considered threats to win the 20-women battle royal? This could be a night where women on the periphery come into focus. Elektra Lopez, Fallon Henley, and Indi Hartwell all could be put in a more prominent role challenging for the title.

With Henley’s association with Briggs and Jensen, who also hold titles, and Lopez now associated with the Don of NXT in Tony D’Angelo, along with Hartwell being a former NXT Women’s tag team champion, all are immediate threats to win the battle royal. But if anyone appears to have the social media buzz of contending for the title, it would have to be Nikita Lyons.

    What To Expect:

    • What will happen to the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship on WWE NXT 2.0 for 7/19/22?
    • What will JD McDonough say about his attack on Bron Breakker?
    • Will more be in store for Von Wagner and Solo Sikoa moving forward?
