On the upcoming WWE NXT 2.0 for 5/17/22 features five matches for the show. Of the matches included, one is a tag team rematch between a pair of brothers and former NXT Champions, two quarterfinals matches for the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament, and a match to finally settle the growing animosity between a Don and a leader. Of all the matches planned, which is likely to be the one fans talk about going into NXT upcoming In Your House event?

Within these five matches, which is the one that is likely to be the one the set forward plans for the future? Here is WWE NXT 2.0 preview for 5/1722.

Solo Sikoa & Cameron Grimes vs. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams

Is it more important to send a message or walk out on top? That very question is likely to be posed to Cameron Grimes as he teams with Solo Sikoa this week. On one side, he faces two men committed to taking the NXT North American Championship away from Grimes as anyone. However, Grimes needs to look no further than to his own corner with someone who also has his eyes on the prize and wants to get his hands on the NXT North American Championship.

If there is ever a time when Grimes best have his head on a swivel, it is likely tonight. Will he be able to trust someone that is equally determined to become the NXT North American Champion? He has no choice but to do so. That is until the bell rings to end the match. At that point, all bets are off.

    NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament Quarterfinals

With the semi-finals decided on the left side of the bracket, the right side will be the focus on this week’s show—Roxanne Perez against Kiana James and Kash Legend facing Tatum Paxley. The winners of each of those matches will face one another in the semi-final. While each of those involved have been receiving on-screen time, only a couple of them seems to be tipping the scale in the direction of a win.

Former ROH Women’s Champion, Rok-C (now known as Roxanne Perez) appears to be the first likely one to advance to the semifinals on the right side. Interestingly, Lash Legend has been given on-screen time, and Tatum Paxley has been a part of Diamond Mine. Of the two, Legend advances based on recent on-screen feuds and matches that have taken place.

The Creed Brothers vs. The Viking Experience

Who says you can never go home again? If you are Ivar and Erik, their recent time in NXT has been crucial. It hasn’t just been good for them, providing them time to compete on-screen and showcase their skills. But it has also been so significant in helping Julius and Brutus Creed. The brothers are so young and so fresh that if anyone could have benefited from having direction in the ring, it is them.

While they both possess a tremendous athletic background and timing that works so well because they know each other so well, it is facing experienced teams such as Erik and Ivar that will only help further their careers, particularly their upcoming match against Pretty Deadly at In Your House.

    Tony D’Angelo vs. Santos Escobar

Often when heels face one another, the results don’t usually work out. In this instance, however, fans will see two men that have been guilty of kidnapping the other side’s henchmen, damaging their vehicles, and getting in their heads. It has come time for both sides to reach a conclusion. The only way that is likely to happen is if one asserts themselves as the true ‘alpha of NXT.’

So while that won’t happen, the nextly likely thing that is expected is that one person shows themselves to be the true ‘Don of NXT.’ For Santos Escobar, he likely feels he has come too far to allow D’Angelo to cement his place on the brand at his expense. But, on the other hand, D’Angelo is walking in to add another name to his list of those who will fall victim to the Don of NXT.

    What To Expect

    • Preparation for NXT In Your House
    • Bron Breakker addresses Joe Gacy
    • Toxic Attraction asserts themselves ahead of In Your House.
