Before the pandemic hit the world, we first reported Virtual Basement, a New England-based video game developer, started to sign some top independent wrestling stars to be apart of a wrestling game the world has never seen before. March 5 was the date, and at the time the list included some of biggest talent never seen in before in digital form including,

But as of today, it all changes as the developer has announced via Twitter the name of the game.

Virtual Basement Announces Upcoming Video Game, The Wrestling Code

While there is still no definitive date right now for the release of the game, including if it will include any championships, arenas, or even downloadable content, the excitement has been added with this already long list of playable superstars. We can only hope we can sooner or later get more information on the platforms the game will be available on. In the meantime, they have started a website to sign up for more exclusive details on the game at WrestlingCode.com.

Congrats to all the independent and major superstars that are going to be apart of this major non-WWE video game release.

    Caul’s Call

Wow. All I can say is wow. I mean, this has to be one of the biggest lineups I’ve seen in a long time for a wrestling game that is not related to WWE.

Imagine the possibilities: we can do an AEW Dark rematch with Brian Cage vs. Brian Pillman Jr, putting JTG and Shad Gaspard back together against Bear Country, or even Petey Williams vs. Cheeseburger or a clash of some of women’s wrestling’s finest with Killer Kelly, Thunder Rosa, Holidead and Solo Darling.

To think this is going to shake the wrestling video game world is an understatement; Virtual Basement deserves a round of applause for what they have achieved in today’s announcement.
