Two weeks removed from a historic event of NXT Takeover: In Your House on the WWE Network, we are back on the USA Network for another high octane edition on Wednesday of NXT. Last week we saw new contenders, new stories to be built upon, and more opportunities for the stacked roster of NXT. But on this week’s show, we find out is the contenders are going to be the new leaders or just pretenders as Wednesday’s episode looks to highlight the great tag teams of the brand. It’s time for us to visit the battlefield as we see who will be in the upcoming tag team warfare in this edition of Coming up NXT for the 6/17/20 episode.
NXT Preview – Tag Team Warfare
Before NXT Takeover: In Your House even took place, we had a title change on the tag team front as Imperium now reigns over the division! But it did not take long for the newly minted champs in Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel to already have their first challengers as a triple threat #1 Contender’s match took place with an upset by Breezango!
But with Tyler Breeze and the returning Fandango having all the momentum, the uber-talented dancing duo may finally get over the hump and walk away as champions. However, Imperium, with a looming NXT UK Champion WALTER certainly watching from his throne, may have no remorse to be a footnote in this comeback story.
Can the bruising tag team representing NXT UK’s most dominant group continue their reign over their sister company? Or can the retired fashion officers turned working savants become the brand new NXT Tag Team Champions?
NXT Preview – Tag Team Warfare
After a battle of wits against Dexter Lumis, Adam Cole is riding high on his historic championship reign and defeat of many of NXT’s finest. But with Keith Lee confronting him backstage with eyes on his prize, and Karrion Kross’ resident Mistress of Death, Scarlett, delivering her own doomsday countdown, is Cole reign coming down to the wire?
Will Keith Lee step to Cole again on this week’s edition? Or will Kross deliver another message to the Undisputed NXT Champion? And how will William Regal decide on the next contender for the black and gold brand’s top prize?
NXT Preview – Tag Team Warfare
WWE Backlash this past Sunday saw the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Sasha Banks retain over a very game IIconics and former champions Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss. But after being confronted by the IIconics on Monday Night RAW, Smackdown’s best friends are becoming popular among the women’s division.
Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart have been on a tear since coming together for the greater good, the defeat of Candace LeRae. But after their triumphant win on NXT Takeover: In Your House with Mia Yim, the Girl With The Shiniest Wizard and the Rebel With A Cause are rewarded with a epic title shot.
When Bayley and Sasha Banks first won the titles, they vowed to defend them on every brand especially the place that made them legends, NXT. This week, they follow up on that promise in this title match! Will Bayley and Banks continue their 2nd reign as the leading women of WWE or will Nox and Blackheart once again show why the black and gold brand still have one of the deepest divisions on the brand and become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions?
Also this week, after his big reveal taking off his mask, El Hijo De Fantasma is now Santos Escobar! And with his cohorts Joaquin Wild and Raul Mendoza at his side, how will the trio make their names on the brand? And will the biggest underdog Drake Maverick respond to their epic beat down? Also, Finn Balor took his time dissecting Cameron Grimes on last weeks’ episode and called out Keith Lee and his North American Championship. Will the Limitless One respond to the Prince’s name dropping? Or will Balor find another victim on his way to challenging for the one title he’s never won? And while some of the top women in NXT are going for the women’s tag titles, who will step up to challenge the new NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai?
Oh, and has anyone checked in on Robert Stone? Will he ever recover from this?
That was Coming Up NXT for 6/17/20. Tune in tonight as NXT is only on the USA Network!
