This Saturday, Impact Pro Wrestling presents return to the Forte Center with a pivotal main event. It’s a tale as old as time, teacher versus student, mentor taking on the mentee. It’s James Jeffries versus the self-proclaimed “Golden God” Bryce Jordyn for the IPW Heavyweight Championship. Bryce Jordyn began his wrestling career training at the IPW Vault in Collins, Iowa in April of 2018.
One of the trainers there was James Jeffries. The two hit it off immediately with Jeffries taking the young upstart under his wing. Over time Jordyn continued to improve, so much so that three years into his career, he found himself the number one contender to the IPW Championship. It was at the annual IPW Lou Thesz/George Tragos Hall of Fame show that Jordyn saw his dream come true.
That night, he defeated the long-standing IPW Heavyweight Champion The Big Picture. The victory was the feel-good moment of the show and James Jeffries was quick to join his student in the post-match celebration. Read all about Jordyn’s win here.
“It meant a lot to me. As a coach it’s awesome to see your students win championship gold,” Jeffries said. “I sprinted to the ring and celebrated with him and it was awesome to see his peers, fans, and family give him a standing ovation.”
During the celebration, Jordyn absorbed all the adulation, but deep down inside, he resented his peers and coaches coming to spoil his moment.
It was during the celebration that the “Golden God” began to emerge.
“Did having other nobodies come out to the ring to hog my spotlight make it better. I was hoping I’d be asked intelligent questions, but it seems I have to spell everything out for you all. That was my moment. That was my crowning achievement not theirs. To make matters worse the first person I see is James Jeffries. They should have all stayed away as the crowd got its first glimpse at their Golden God.”
Just two days later the transformation was complete, and it was time for the Golden God to present himself to the world. Jordyn and Jeffries began IPW’s show at the Forte Center that Sunday afternoon. In the ring together, it was supposed to be another feel-good moment, but it quickly emerged into something else. Jordyn verbally ripped into his mentor along with the IPW fans in attendance proclaiming he didn’t need any of them anymore.
It was a shocking turn that stunned Jeffries and all the IPW faithful.
“I was shocked at his new attitude after the Hall of Fame when he said he didn’t need myself or the wrestling fans anymore,” Jeffries said. “The wrestling fans make us who we are and carry us through difficult matches. They were with Bryce every step of the way and for him to turn his back and say I’m done with you all is disappointing.”
Since that Sunday at the Forte, the two have crossed paths at numerous IPW fair shows that took place during the month of August. Each time Jordyn proved just how far he will go to hold on to his gold.
This brings us to this Saturday when IPW returns to the Forte Center. Jeffries wants to put his protege in his place and win the IPW Championship for the fifth time. Jordyn on the other hand has something else in mind…
“I am going to bring James to his hands and knees just like the people in Forte, my followers, and have him begging for salvation. But James you will not be receiving that salvation. See I took out the greatest evil that IPW has ever seen in The Big Picture. On September 11 I will be bringing balance back to IPW when I defeat the greatest hero in IPW. Not only am I going to beat James, but I am going to make sure he never wrestles again under my watch.”
Jordyn versus Jeffries is the main event come Saturday, but IPW has a stacked card featuring title matches, grudge matches, and a long-awaited return.
Here is the rest of the card.

IPW Tag Team Championship Match
Justin Decent, Ethan Everheart & TS Aggressor vs The Max Chill Mafia (Max Chill, Adam Love, The Shank)
The tension between Max Chill Mafia and IPW management specifically TS Aggressor has been bubbling for months. It all started at the IPW 20 Year Anniversary Show when the MCM confronted Aggressor and his Inhumane Society mates. Safe to say things didn’t go well for Max Chill, Adam Love, and the Shank that night.
Then at the IPW Hall of Fame Show, Aggressor came to the aid of James Jeffries. What was originally planned as a MCM handicap against Jeffries, turned into another tough loss for the dastardly trio. Adding salt to the wounds was the post-match assault from the likes of WWE Hall of Famers Gerald Brisco and Cowboy Bob Orton.
Two days later when IPW returned to the Forte, the MCM gained a measure of revenge, giving Aggressor a three-man beatdown. However, coming to Aggressor’s aid was the IPW Tag Team Champions Justin Decent and Ethan Everheart. Words were exchanged and a six-man tag match was made.
The added stipulation that the IPW Tag Team Titles will be on the line makes this even more paramount. Either the “Prophecy of Chill” will come true and the Max Chill Mafia will finally gain the tag titles or this could be the next night of disappointment for “Everyone’s favorite trio.”

IPW Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match
Sage Hale © vs Briar Hale vs Carly Khaos
Sage and Briar Hale have been the definition of sibling rivalry since making their debuts in IPW. Originally working together, it was the IPW Women’s Championship that drove the wedge between the twins. Since winning the strap from Frankie Jay, Sage Hale has continuously stood across the ring from her sister.
From county fair shows across Iowa to a match at the Forte, these two have fought all over. Joining the fracas this Saturday is IPW newcomer Carly Khaos. The powerhouse had a match against both sisters during the IPW fair show experience tour earlier this summer. She brings a wild card dynamic to this rivalry for the top Women’s prize in IPW. Making this match even more unpredictable.

Grudge Match
The Big Picture vs Malice
Both the Big Picture and Malice are coming out of big-time rivalries. Malice recently ended his feud with AJ Smooth over the IPW Extreme Championship with a wild victory last time IPW was at the Forte. The Big Picture had his 850 plus day reign atop the company ended by Bryce Jordyn at the IPW Hall of Fame Show. These two know each other well and would love to get a victory over the other.
As a matter of fact, the two went to war at IPW’s most recent fair show in Creston, Iowa. It was a hard-hitting match won by Malice after an all-out brawl between the entire IPW roster on hand broke out. One way or another this one could get extreme.

Jaxon King vs AJ Smooth
Generational warfare best sums up this match. In one corner we have the upstart Jaxon King. Who in a short period of time, has gained a rabid Des Moines fan base as he continues his descent up the IPW ranks. Waiting for him across the ring is IPW veteran AJ Smooth. A man who has done it all in IPW.
He’s held every title IPW has to offer, most recently winning the Extreme Championship at the Hall of Fame show. He is the Franchise player for IPW and wins over King could propel him to a Heavyweight Championship opportunity. The same goes for King, picking up a singles win over Smooth could be the spark that takes him to the next level. This one has show-stealer written all over it.
The Death Dealer & Ricky Bronson vs The Legend Killers – Matty Star & Sparrow
Since reuniting earlier this year the Legend Killers have seen their fair share of struggles. The former Tag Team Champions haven’t found the success they were anticipating when re-forming. Saturday is their opportunity to get back on track against a team pairing up for the very first time.
The Death Dealer has been one of IPW’s most consistent performers during these summer months. Always willing to take on any comer, he recently earned the opportunity to face any champion of his choosing. Joining the Death Dealer is Ricky Bronson.
A man making his triumphant return to the ring after being on the shelf with a shoulder injury for over a year. It will be interesting to see if the odd couple pairing of the beer drinking-party animal Bronson and the silent monster known as the Death Dealer, can pull off the upset over the former champions.
Jimmy Wylde vs Zeke Dynamics
If you’re a fan of fast-paced, high-flying action you will not want to miss this one. Jimmy Wylde, the veteran high flyer of IPW, wants to show Zeke Dynamics, the upcoming high flyer of IPW, how it’s done. Dynamics is looking for the biggest individual win of his career. As with King versus Smooth, Wylde versus Dynamics is a battle of two generations of IPW stars. The ultimate winner in this one will be the fans as they return to the forte.
Bell time is 7:30 pm as Impact Pro Wrestling makes its return to the Forte Center in downtown Des Moines.
