Welcome to Raw in Advance for 5/6/24, where we take a look at this week’s show in Hartford, CT. The promotion is coming off a fantastic showing in Lyon, France, the King and Queen of the Ring tournament begins.

The qualification matches were announced at Backlash, and Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has made all eight matches official for Raw on Monday. Let’s take a look at the tournament matches.

    Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega

    Gunther vs. Sheamus

    Ilja Dragunov vs. Ricochet

Another new NXT draftee to Raw, Ilja Dragunov, faces the new WWE Speed Champion Ricochet in the first round. Can Dragunov pull off the victory? Will Ricochet advance to possibly add another title to him?

    Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio

In the first round, the New Day’s Kofi Kingston faces WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. Will Kingston keep the King of the Ring title within the New Day, as Xaiver Woods was the last King of the Ring? Will Mysterio add another title to his illustrious Hall of Fame career?

There are the first-round tournament matches. What will the brackets look like for the second round, likely next week on Raw? Who will advance to be the Raw representative for in the King and Queen of the Ring finals?

    Three things to watch for:

    • Damian Priest had a successful title defense against Jey Uso at Backlash. Will Uso be looking for a rematch since the Judgment Day interfered to help Priest retain the title?
    • Sami Zayn has not one but two challengers for his Intercontinental Championship in the form of Chad Gable and “Big” Bronson Reed.
    • How will Damage Ctrl react to losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, thus forcing them to stay exclusively on Raw?

What else is going to happen? Find out this Monday at 8 ET/7 CT on USA or wherever you watch.
