On Friday, January 10th PCW ULTRA presents Anniversary 2020. They once again return to the Ilwu Memorial Hall in Wilmington, California. With the event to begin at 830 pm Pacific Time. This would be PCW ULTRA’s first event since October’s Into the Void. The promotion has been building for this date as the show will be its fourth-anniversary event. Among those featured on the card include former WWE Cruiserweight champion, TJ Perkins, and ECW legend Sabu. However, with each of the company’s titles on the line, something is bound to happen at PCW ULTRA’s Anniversary 2020.

    TJ Perkins vs. Artemis Spencer

This match right from the get-go appears to be a fun ride. The technical wizardry of on TJP combined with the exploits of the current Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling champion Artemis Spencer. Spencer has showcased his talents along the Pacific Northwest for several years. He is also no stranger to PCW ULTRA working with the promotion during several events. His opponent is also no stranger to PCW ULTRA as TJ Perkins makes his return for Anniversary 2020. Fans can anticipate a match that will be less about a ground and pound offense and more a use of finesse that showcases their collective skillsets. As a former DEFY Champion, Spencer could be hoping a win here may either put him in for Mil Muertes PCW ULTRA World Championship or even rival Schaff’s DEFY Championship further up the coast. Will Perkins allow himself to be a stepping stone on behalf of Spencer? It isn’t likely.

    ULTRALIGHT Championship
Jake Atlas (C) vs Dom Kubrick vs. Douglas James

Winning creates opportunities. This match here is all about having opportunities created but also having rivalries rekindled as well. Last month, Atlas and James faced one another in an incredible matchup as part of Wrestle Summit II hosted by DEFY Wrestling. While that match left may have put James on the losing end, he is far from a loser. In fact, coming out of that match James’ performance turned heads and likely helped create this opportunity only a few weeks later. As the reigning ULTRALIGHT Champion, Atlas will have a target on his back and this is further proof of that. Atlas doesn’t have only James to wait for but also 2019 Young Guns winner, Dom Kubrick. This is certainly a case of Atlas potentially being preoccupied with James when he also needs to put his focus on Kubrick as well. At this point, anything could happen!

    Killer Kross vs. Chris Masters

From a distance, this would seem like ironic booking. On one side of the ring, we have a former WWE superstar in Chris Masters and on the other a man that has been linked to rumors of potentially joining the WWE. However, we won’t dive into what could be, we will focus on what is. This match has two very seasoned veterans that have grown as talents both in the ring and on the microphone over the course of their respective careers. In fact, these two both have the distinction of also being linked to IMPACT Wrestling in the past as well. During Master’s time with Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling they also ‘feuded’ with IMPACT. This time, however, both Cross and Masters step into the ring with one another for the first time according to their recorded histories. What will their future hold in PCW ULTRA after the event?

    ULTRA Woman Championship
Ruby Raze vs Sumie Sakai (c)

Ruby Raze came out of virtually nowhere and is certainly making a mark for herself. The Equal Opportunity Ass Kicker and 9-year pro recently won the opportunity the challenge for the Santino Bros Submission Championship. In just a couple of days, she will face current ULTRA Woman Champion, Sumie Sakai. Raze attacked the champion out of nowhere setting up this opportunity for the championship. Sakai has held the title over 150 days however she has only defended the title once since capturing it. She won the championship this past August defeating the inaugural champion Tessa Blanchard in the process. Raze is a massive challenger and poses quite a threat for the championship. Will Raze walk out of Anniversary 2020 the new ULTRA Woman Champion?

    Steel cage Match
    Outlawz Inc vs. Warbeast (c)

If any match on the card best resembled a moving title it would be this one. There will be blood is the seemingly best way to describe this battle between Homicide, Eddie Kingston, Josef Samuel, and Jacob Fatu. As the reigning co-DEFY and PCW ULTRA tag-team champions, Samuel and Fatu bring violence everywhere they compete. The on-going rivalry between both teams suggests that all technical wrestling will be thrown out the window. Samuel and Fatu have a great deal at stake. With both championships at stake, anything less than a victory will be a major disappointment with the long-standing champions. Kingston and Homicide know all to well that a win here won’t only result in a championship win but put Samuel and Fatu on the outside looking in.

    Bloodhunter vs Sabu

El Cazador De Sangre the Bloodhunter is likely new to many North American fans. He is making his debut at Anniversary 2020 against the ECW legend Sabu. The homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac returns to PCW ULTRA to face this near 300 ibs monster. With Sabu in the ring, fans are likely to see this match go to the extreme. Fans shouldn’t expect anything fancy in this matchup. Bloodhunter will use a number of clubbing blows in his battle. There isn’t typically anything fancy with Bloodhunter. However, Sabu will often throw caution to the win putting his own safety at risk with the intent of taking out his competitor.

    ULTRA Championship
    Hammerstone vs. Mil Muertes (c)

This is the main event for a reason. Alexander Hammerstone has long been tied to PCW ULTRA. He doesn’t mince words in the ring and his look and attitude have evolved along with him. At 44 years of age, Muertes takes his 22-year career into PCW ULTRA and continues to build on his notoriety in the California area. A former Lucha Underground Champion, Muertes isn’t one to rest on his laurels. He in the midst of a near 300 hundred day reign as champion. For Hammerstone, he is on a quest to walk out of PCW ULTRA Anniversary 2020 as the champion. The current MLW National Openweight Champion, WCPW Heavyweight Champion and one-half of the FSW Tag Team Champions, Hammerstone is dead set on adding to his current collection of championships.
