Welcome to the latest edition of AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 3/25/20! Last week’s show was the first show done without fans. It was easily the best pro wrestling show so far in the post-Coronavirus world. It was full of surprises, creativity, and some really excellent wrestling. While “Blood and Guts” have been indefinitely delayed, AEW is still hoping to build on its great show. What will happen when Chris Jericho faces Matt Hardy? Let us see what AEW has in store for us on Wednesday:

Cody vs. Jimmy Havoc
What is Cody thinking?
Cody should be quite distracted on Wednesday night. He is going to do commentary during AEW Dynamite with Tony Schiavone. You can tell he isn’t taking it too seriously because AEW’s social media accounts have set up a drinking game for Cody’s commentary.
The problem is Cody has also agreed to face Jimmy Havoc on Wednesday night. Jimmy Havoc is a famous hardcore wrestler and deathmatch veteran. He hasn’t had a lot of success recently on AEW Dynamite and will be looking for some momentum against the American Nightmare. Will Cody be too distracted by his many AEW duties and look past the dangerous Havoc? He would do so at his own peril.
Kenny Omega vs. Sammy Guevara (AAA Mega Championship)
It is amazing we will see one of AAA’s biggest titles defended for the first time on AEW Dynamite. Kenny Omega won the AAA Mega Championship from Fenix in October of 2019 at Héroes Inmortales XIII. He has defended the title just twice since he won it. He hasn’t defended the title since December. Can he hold onto his title against the “Spanish God”?
Sammy Guevara is no stranger to AAA. He is a former Cruiserweight Champion and he held that title for 175 days. The Inner Circle is looking for any way to get revenge on The Elite. Taking the AAA Mega Championship from Kenny Omega would be a good way to do that. If it happens I look forward to the great celebration Sammy Guevara would have.

Matt Hardy/Chris Jericho Face-off
It was quite a moment when Vanguard One arrived in AEW. It seems the “Broken” Matt Hardy has arrived in All Elite Wrestling. Hardy was the hottest thing in professional wrestling in Impact Wrestling when he created the Broken gimmick. For a variety of reasons, it was not successful in the WWE. What will Matt Hardy be able to do with the creative freedom in All Elite? I am sure it will be wonderful.
Chris Jericho is not pleased. He believed his team had gained the advantage over the Elite when they took Nick Jackson out of the “Blood and Guts” match. Then Matt Hardy showed up to align himself with The Elite. How will Jericho and the rest of the Inner Circle deal with the always unstable Hardy? We will find out on Wednesday night when they face off for the first time. Giving these two veterans some freedom to cut a great promo should be a lot of fun.
The world needs some escapism and I believe AEW will provide it for us yet again. I thank the AEW wrestlers and crew that worked so hard to take my mind off the horribleness of the world for a few hours last week. Can they do it again? Make sure to read AEW Ignite next week to find out what happened on their second-ever closed set show!
