On Friday, February 21st, at the Logan Square Auditorium AAW Pro presents its latest event The Art of War. This event involves one championship match. However, that isn’t to say that future championship matches won’t be decided by some results. For instance in a fatal four-way matchup to determine a future challenger for Mance Warner’s AAW Heavyweight Championship. There is also a six-way battle that is also likely to have ramifications as it pertains to the AAW Heritage Championship. Will the Besties in the World retain their tag team championships or will the return of Fiyah Fox to AAW Pro prove to create new tag team champions?

    AAW Tag Team Championship Match

Besties in the World vs. AR Fox and Myron Reed

Reunited and it feels so good at The Art of War. That had to be the tun AR Fox and Myron Reed were singing when this championship match for The Art of War was announced. Fitchett and Vega, what can be said about the duo that hasn’t been said before. The duo is three-time AAW Pro Tag Team champions and is currently in the midst of a near six-month reign as champions. These two teams haven’t faced one another since AAW Pro’s event Day of Defiance 2018 when Fitchett and Vega retained the titles. Memories tend to be short when it comes to losing out on championship opportunities. Fox and Reed likely didn’t forget their last match against one another and want to make this opportunity for the championships count.

    PACO vs. Zicky Dice

What happens when you put in a guy who exudes personality against a guy that is as disciplined a competitor you will find anywhere? The answer is likely a match filled with fireworks. These two men haven’t faced one another before so it will be interesting to see how they are able to combat the strengths of the other. A graduate of the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy, Dice is the new NWA World Television Champion and faces a man that is coming off a recent title rematch loss to Hakim Zane. The question is will that loss linger in the mind of Paco or will the former champion channel his anger to this new foe? Dice comes in with a great deal of talk around him. Will that buzz be what puts him over Paco or will the former AAW Pro Heritage Champion look past the razzle-dazzle of Dice?

Infamy vs. Travis Titan and Benjamin Carter

In a battle of Black and Brave Wrestling Academy graduates, Rusman, Williamson, Titan, and Carter. They have also been advertised as part of the future of AAW Pro. So what can fans expect from these four men? Benjamin Carter is originally from the United Kingdom whereas, Titan, Rusman, and Williamson bring a different pedigree in the ring with them. Titan was a former running back at the University of Western Michigan. Williamson refers to himself as the Dirty South Boricua, that takes in the comfort of whiskey and cigars. For Rusman, originally from Wasilla, Alaska a man known affectionately is also known as ICE in the Infamy tandem. Where will a win put the duo that comes out on top in this contest?

Stephen Wolf vs. Clayton Gainz vs. Nate Webb vs. Karam vs. Jake Lander vs. Ace Perry

If anyone matches on the night will force fans to have their head on a swivel it will be this one. This six-way contest involves some of the notable men on the independent circuit today. First and foremost, the twenty-year veteran, Nate Webb stands across the ring from men all younger and less experienced than him. But in the end that doesn’t mean a thing. Wolf was trained by the late Harley Race and continued to rise in prominence over the past few years. Gainz has been a regular with Pro Wrestling Revolver and Rockstar Pro holding championships in both promotions. Karam is known for his ties to Hakim Zane but is focused on himself on this night. Lander has trained by Michael Elgin and often called Pro Wrestling ZERO1 his home throughout what is now the fifth year of his career.

The winner earns an AAW Heavyweight Championship Match on March 20th

Josh Briggs vs. Hakim Zane vs. Fred Yehi vs. Jordan Oliver

Each of these men has earned an opportunity to be in this match at The Art of War. In fact, each man has earned a right to challenge Mance Warner in their own right. One of the most intriguing men involved in this match is the current AAW Heritage Champion Hakim Zane competing for the opportunity to be a double champion! Yehi and Oliver will bring a sense of excitement and enthusiasm in this match that will keep fans on the edge of their seat. Which means the most feared man in the match is 6’8 Massachusetts native Josh Briggs. Briggs is currently in the fourth month of his run as EVOLVE Champion and is certainly looking to only add to his list of accomplishments. This match lends Briggs that opportunity to not only grab the brass ring but to walk out on March 20th as the champion of two different promotions.

    TJ Perkins vs. ACH

One has to wonder if at one point in the match they both turn to each other and says ‘yeah, I didn’t like working THERE either’. All jokes aside these two men are facing one another for only the third time in their careers. Fans will have to go all the way back to 2012 to when they last faced one another. It was as part of the promotion Saint Louis Anarchy where the two men faced one another twice in the same year. Both men traded wins against the other with Perkins picking up the most recent win. Since time has passed both men have grown both as professionals and individuals in the ring. Their skills have grown and with it has been their overall value and appeal to the audience. Which one of these seasoned veterans gets the better of the other at The Art of War?

    Nick Gage vs. Matthew Justice

With Game Changer Wrestling virtually everywhere it was only a matter of time before the skilled pugilists from GCW came to AAW Pro. Gage is to GCW what Sting was for WCW and The Undertaker was to the WWE. He is the franchise of the promotion. Who best to showcase on a show than to featured attraction himself Nick F’N Gage. For Matthew Justice, he’s earning a name for himself and won’t be outdone either. Between them fans are certain that bodies will be beaten and likely blood will be shed. The question is will the remnants of this battle spin into the crowd of the AAW faithful? If everyone plays their cards right that is likely what will happen.
