It’s another exciting week for the NJPW LA Dojo as we preview NJPW STRONG Synopsis for 9/10/22. With High Alert in the books, the Young Lions are headed back to The Vermont Hollywood to unleash their fighting spirit over the next few weeks. This first edition of the Fighting Spirit Unleashed series features Lucha Libre action, a junior heavyweight showdown, and a championship main event.

Luckily the NJPW STRONG Synopsis is here to break down everything you can expect from the Young Lions of the LA Dojo this Saturday night.

    Mascara Dorada vs Misterioso

On July 19th, NJPW announced that CMLL star Mistico will be in action at Autumn Attack on September 11th. Fellow luchador and Stray Dog Army member Misterioso was quick to issue a challenge to the CMLL mainstay. A victory over Mistico would bring much attention to Misterioso.

However, Misterioso isn’t the only luchador in NJPW STRONG. Mistico and NJPW STRONG standout Mascara Dorada go way back, and the man in the golden mask was just as quick to issue a counter-challenge to Misterioso. While Misterioso wants the attention, Mascara Dorada is out to carve another chapter with his old friend. Expect a lucha libre master class when these two masked marvels clash in The Vermont this Saturday night.

    Robbie Eagles vs. Kevin Blackwood

Australian indie standout Robbie Eagles makes his NJPW STRONG debut this Saturday night. After a strong showing at Best of The Super Juniors and the CMLL Grand Prix, Eagles has been doing a wonderful job representing the NJPW brand internationally. Robbie Eagles will be looking to make a statement in his first NJPW STRONG appearance, and the powers that be have an interesting matchup lined up for him.

This Saturday night, Robbie Eagles will test his technical proficiency against another up-and-coming scientific grappler. Kevin Blackwood returns to The Vermont Hollywood with the intent to avenge his tag team loss to Keita and Yuya Uemura at Mutiny. Will Blackwood set his record straight, or will Eagles soar this Saturday night on NJPW STRONG?

Aussie Open (c) vs. West Coast Wrecking Crew –
NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship

Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher became the inaugural NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions just a few short weeks ago at High Alert. Already they’ve put on their first title defense, defeating Destination Everywhere at RevPro’s 10-year anniversary event. Now Aussie Open are ready to rack up title defense #2.

Their challengers this Saturday night are the recently reunited Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs. After WCWC lost to The Mighty Don’t Kneel in the first round, Isaacs headed to Japan to back up “Filthy” Tom Lawlor in his G1 Climax bid. Meanwhile, Nelson avenged his team’s loss by defeating Shane Haste of TMDK in singles action.

After picking up the win with a handful of tights, Jorel Nelson issued a challenge to Aussie Open. Fletcher and Davis have been very vocal about their plans to bring NJPW STRONG to a new level as tag team champions. However, Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs defined the tag team division in NJPW STRONG from the very beginning.

Not only that, but they were a major part of the Team Filthy brand during Tom Lawlor’s 397-day reign as champion. There is much pride on the line this Saturday night when West Coast Wrecking Crew make their first challenge to Aussie Open for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships.
