This will for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match on May 29, 2021.

On the Wrestling Dontaku 2021 PPV event (a two-night event spanning over May 3-4) the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will face off against Shingo Takagi, defending his newly minted gold belt. This comes after Ospreay’s shocking victory over former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi on April 4. Afterward, Ospreay issued a rematch to Okada. He was feeling as though he needed to avenge his loss to the “Rainmaker” from earlier this year.

As Okada motioned for a response to Ospreay’s championship challenge, Shingo Takagi had other plans in mind. Takagi is now scheduled to face Ospreay for the top prize in NJPW on Night 2 of Wrestling Dontaku 2021, and the winner of this match will meet Kazuchika Okada on May 29 in the Tokyo Dome.
