They say it’s hard making a first impression, but for WWE their first impression for Smackdown on FOX, that impression has not been great. Lackluster at best, WWE on Fox social media has been more entertaining than the Friday night staple. But on the first episode of 2020, Smackdown saw 4 superstars re-debut on the show. One of which will be live in a WWE ring for the first time in 5 years tonight.
As announced on WWE.com yesterday, John Morrison will appear live on The Miz’s show Miz TV tonight on Smackdown. After appearing in the A-Lister’s dressing room after his loss to Kofi Kingston last week, we expect some interesting dynamics from the former ECW and Intercontinental Champion as he returns as during a tumultuous time for his former tag team partner.

Outside of the other three returns that took place, as the Usos came to assist Roman Reigns from getting another dog food shower and Sheamus making a big impact by laying out Shorty G, Morrison’s return has been a mystery. When will he wrestle again? Are he and The Miz teaming up? Hopefully, we get those answers on tonight’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown!
Caul’s Call
WWE is making this a big deal, even releasing a playlist of the greatest moments of their show, The Dirt Sheet, on their website.
Storyline aside, this is a great pairing to make Miz fresh again to the audience, and if I was WWE, it would make them a part of the tag team division and refreshed a floundering slot on the Friday night show. Here’s to hoping this turns to a very epic, showdown with The New Day for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.
In their time as a tag team, The Miz and John Morrison were one of the most entertaining acts on any of the WWE brands. Originally emanating from WWE’s re-do of ECW to becoming the focal point of the tag team division across all shows, Miz and Morrison were highly successful and entertaining. One nature of how entertaining is when they were feuding with Cryme Tyme and made this gem. Check out their “diss” track against the Brooklyn-bred team below.
