Tonight, all eyes will be on FOX as we begin the WWE Draft on the second episode of Friday Night Smackdown.
With the live edition just hours away, WWE has been working overtime to get some key news and notes before 8 PM EST broadcast:
Former SHIELD Brothers Collide for The #1 Pick
News broke that WWE has decided to pit the current reigning WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins against the ‘Big Dog’ Roman Reigns in an epic battle between two members of the former SHIELD stable. Stakes will be high as either Smackdown or RAW will get the 1st pick in tonight’s draft.
Hell In A Cell Rematch For The Women’s Championship
With Charlotte riding high on her record 10th Women’s Championship, Bayley looks to reclaim the gold as both of these women will collide. Will Bayley once again be the role model of the Smackdown women’s division or will the Queen stay on top?
WWE Will Hold A Special Press Conference Live From Tonight’s Location of Smackdown
The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada may be the site of tonight’s Smackdown, but 5 hours before the show takes place, WWE announced, via The Bump, that they will hold a special press conference. Led by COO Triple H, the conference will feature Paul Heyman, the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez, heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury and the ‘Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman. This press conference will be live at 3 PM EST (12 pm Vegas time) simulcasted on the WWE Network, WWE’s YouTube channel, WWE Facebook page, WWE Twitter account, and WWE.com.

Caul’s Call
It would be hard to hit two home runs back to back, but being a local New Yorker and a Yankees fan, it’s not impossible and that’s what WWE is going for here. Rollins vs. Reigns feels like a Wrestlemania match which I am sure is going to open the show and kick off the draft in a big way. Charlotte vs. Becky will be an intriguing one as this may have draft implications as we expect to get a new challenger for the Women’s Championship sooner rather than later. As far as the press conference, there are rumors that Fury vs. Stroman and Velasquez vs. Lesnar for the WWE title are set for Crown Jewel so I fully expect this announcement today. Expect some good social media buzz here with all parties being on stage at the same time may result in some viral content.
