At a press conference held yesterday, Alberto Del Patron (Del Rio) announced he will be heading a new promotion called Nacion Lucha Libre. Below is a video of the announcement.
The promotion will hold it’s debut event on Thursday, July 11 at Sala De Armas in Mexico City, Mexico. They have also secured a TV deal which will show the debut event and all future shows. They will be aired on the ImageTV network on Saturday nights at 10.30CST to midnight. The first episode (debut show) will air on Saturday, July 13.
The poster below shows that former WWE and Impact Wrestling star MVP will be appearing. He will head Team Puerto Rico vs Team Mexico in the main event.

Blake’s Take: News has been rife for a few months now that Alberto was putting together a new promotion for Mexico. Rumors were that it could be an MMA company due to his long-standing love for the sport, but eventually, he has created Nacion Lucha Libre. Bringing in some well known outside names such as MVP and Rodriguez is a clever move. Whether Mexico can sustain yet another Lucha promotion remains to be seen, but Alberto still has star power in the country. That alone should give it a head start.
