On Tuesday, September 21st, 2004, at a TNA Impact taping in Orlando, the NWA Tag Team Championship match took place between James Storm and Christopher Daniels against Chris Harris and Elix Skipper.
Fans will recall that ‘Cowboy’ James Storm was part of two tag teams primarily during his tenure with TNA and they were America’s Most Wanted and Beer Money.
What they may not recall was that he even achieved success with another long-time tag team wrestler who was part of SoCal Uncensored/Bad Influence/The Addiction in Christopher Daniels.
What happened during this taping of TNA iMPACT from Impact Zone in Orlando, FL. Mike Tenay and Don West welcome us to the show. Championship Committee member Larry Zbyszko came out to confront tag teams AMW and Triple X.
Harris asked Zbyszko why he couldn’t make the match; both tag teams, AMW & Triple X, want this match. Give me one good reason why you can’t make the NWA Tag Team Championship match?
Zbyszko says he’s not throwing out tradition because, you guys want something, it’s the reason I have been giving you back there.
This is the pro wrestling business; it’s not a democracy. Zbyszko pulls aside “Wildcat” Chris Harris & Prime Time Elix Skipper.
You two champions versus these two wrestlers. He told them the Tag Title match would be “Wildcat” Chris Harris & Prime Time Elix Skipper vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & “Cowboy” James Storm. Championship Committee member Larry Zbyszko goes to the back.

Skipper attacked Storm to start the match. Skipper threw Storm to the outside. Storm came back in and executed a spinning head scissors, followed by a clothesline.
Harris was tagged in. Daniels also tagged in. Harris drove Daniels into the corner. Harris executed a shoulder block followed by a sit-down power bomb off the ropes.
Daniels eventually tagged in Storm for a double team maneuver. Storm did not want to cooperate with Daniels. Skipper tagged in while Storm was refusing.
Skipper and Storm then wrestled. Skipper took the advantage, and they went to a commercial break. Back from the commercial break, and Skipper is still with the advantage.
Skipper has a submission hold on in the middle of the ring. Storm tries powering out but Skipper slams him back to the mat. Storm countered a reverse DDT to gain the advantage.

Storm tagged in Daniels. Harris was tagged in by Skipper. Harris gains the offensive advantage, executing a full nelson slam among other moves. Daniels gains the offensive, shoving Harris into the corner.
Daniels nails a sit-down flapjack slam out of the corner. Storm was then tagged in by Daniels. He shoves Harris into Prime Time, creating a tag.
It’s Skipper and Storm. Both men exchange offense, and then Storm kicks Skipper on the head. Harris and Storm accidentally bumped into each other, and they then just stared at each other.
All four men now get involved. Harris nails the catatonic slam on Daniels. Skipper receives a clothesline from Harris. Daniels hits “The Best Moonsault Ever,” and Harris goes for a pinfall, but gets a two-count.
Daniels picked up the steel chair that Harris brought into the ring and confronted Skipper about it. Skipper thought Daniels was going to use a steel chair on him. Skipper & Daniels argued a bit.
Daniels went to the corner to throw the steel chair out of the ring. Skipper turned around, and Storm nailed him with a side kick. Storm goes for a pinfall, gets the 1-2-3!

James Storm and Christopher Daniels capture the NWA Tag Team Championship
Daniels checked on Skipper after the match. Skipper confronted Christopher Daniels when he finally came to his senses, and Daniels tried to explain himself. It was a remarkable night where the abnormal became normal and unusual became a championship win.
Although they held the titles for a little less than a month after winning them, this was a moment that came when rival tag teams were forced to split and team with their opposing team’s partner in order to become successful.
