This Saturday night, Impact Pro Wrestling presents Late Night Fights as they return to Des Moines. Taking place at Platform, a premier EDM club in Des Moines, this is a 21 and older show. With that in mind, it has the potential to be one of IPW’s wildest shows of the year.

It’s a card stacked with title matches, renewed rivalries, young up and comers, and first-time matchups. Let’s take a look.

Back in January, Bryce Jordyn saw his championship reign come to abrupt end at the hands of James Jeffries. It was a feel-good moment for IPW fans seeing the beloved Jeffries once again holding the gold.

Since then, Jeffries defended the championship in a triple threat ladder match with AJ Smooth and Ricky Bronson. Always the fighting champion, Jeffries retained in an exciting contest. For Bryce Jordyn, losing the title was the low point of his career and a moment he felt was unfair.

His gripe was that Jeffries had an unfair advantage wrestling under a mask as Lonestar J Double. Saturday is his chance at revenge as he looks to regain the gold and end Jeffries reign before it really gets going.

A loss for Jordyn could send him to the back of the contender’s line. Something James Jeffries would love nothing more for his former protégé.

With a perfect environment in Platform, this one has the potential to get a bit wild. These two know each other so well and have feuded numerous times in IPW. During the Big Picture’s historic 853-day reign as IPW Champion, a constant thorn in his side was Malice.

Saturday, they reignite their rivalry with the Extreme Championship on the line. Malice has proven time and again that he’ll go to extreme lengths to hold onto the gold. The Big Picture has to be ready to meet that level of extreme.

Everyone’s favorite trio, the Max Chill Mafia, is going on six months as champions. Max Chill, The Shank, and Adam Love continue to find ways to retain their titles. Back in January, they fended off the duo of Justin Decent and Ugly to remain champions.

Now, they once again find themselves facing a threat from Justin Decent. This time he brings with him the Death Dealer. It will be interesting to see if Decent’s newest partner can help him reclaim the gold or if the MCM continues its reign at the top.

Talk about rivalry renewed. These two have been rivals for years, with the IPW Women’s Championship usually hanging in the balance. They both enter Saturday with something to prove.

Miss Frankie Jay is competing for the first time since becoming a mother, and Brooke Valentine is coming back from a knee injury. Both will be determined to not only defeat their old rival but show they are still at the top of their game.

This could be considered a de facto number one contender’s match, with the winner possibly earning a future shot at Briar Hale’s IPW Women’s Championship.

    First Time Ever
    AJ Smooth vs. JT Energy

This match here has all the makings of an instant classic. Two wrestlers – who hold their own championships outside of IPW – at the top of their game – squaring off for the first time.

Smooth is the franchise player of IPW, name an accomplishment in IPW, and he’s achieved it. A high-profile win here could put him on the path for a future IPW Championship opportunity.

JT Energy has made appearances for IPW in the past, but it has been a while since he’s stepped in an IPW ring. The “Unsolved Mistery” would love nothing more than to make a huge impact, and a win over AJ Smooth would do just that.

Impact Pro Wrestling Presents Late-Night Fights
The Rise Up Free for All Match
Ethan Everheart vs. Gable Galileo vs. Jimmy Wylde vs. Clay Cooper vs. Cole Cannon vs. TBA

A grand opportunity awaits the winner of this six-man free for all. The winner earns a future IPW Heavyweight Championship match, something all of these competitors could use to boost their careers.

Ethan Everheart is a former IPW Tag Champion and could use this as a springboard to singles success. Gable Galileo has been at the cusp of the IPW Heavyweight Championship scene, and a win here would cement his status as a top contender.

Jimmy Wylde has been dealing with a knee injury, so his presence in this match comes with a question mark, but if he can go, expect to see him do some wild things. Clay Cooper’s blood feud with his brother Dalton is in the rearview mirror, and now he has his sights on the IPW Championship.

Cole Cannon is still finding his way through the waters of IPW; a win here would give him a sense of focus. Then there is the wildcard of who might be the sixth competitor. Zach Takes, and I talked about the possibilities of who this might be on the most recent Shotgun Wrestling Podcast you can listen to here.

Matty Star has been a mainstay of IPW for years. Able to rile up the fans like no other, he is one of the top performers in the Midwest. Saturday is another opportunity to prove just how good he is.

JJ Garrett has been making waves across the independent wrestling scene. He’s wrestled for AEW along with other major promotions across the United States. IPW fans have seen him before, and he always delivers an exciting match. Two men are determined to steal the show, and they just might do it.

Impact Pro Wrestling Presents Late-Night Fights
    Triple Threat Match
Zay K47 vs. “Lone Diamond” Jaxon King vs. Ricky Bronson

With a new attitude and mean streak, Ricky Bronson recently challenged for the IPW Heavyweight Championship. He came up short in the triple threat ladder match and could use a win this Saturday to regain some momentum.

It won’t be easy as he steps in the ring with two of IPW’s most athletically gifted competitors. Jaxon King has refocused his approach to the squared circle and is looking for his biggest year yet.

Zay K47 might be the youngest competitor on the IPW roster but has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year. This is a can’t miss showcase of IPW’s young talent.

It’s the next big stop on IPW’s path towards the Hall of Fame show in July, and each competitor is looking gain momentum heading into IPW’s biggest show of the year.
