Shortly after the announcement of All Elite Wrestling partnering with ITV, Pro Wrestling Sheet broke the story that Angelico has signed a deal with AEW. According to Ryan Satin, there was interest from WWE to bring Angelico into NXT. Today, it was confirmed on Angelico’s Twitter account that Angelico and Jack Evans will be arriving at AEW.

On Tuesday, Angelico tweeted the message, “Is it time for a change?” Followers immediately speculated on what this referred to. These ranged from a deal with a major wrestling promotion to even a match with Jon Moxley. He posted a second tweet that said, “Tomorrow. A decision that will change my life and career.” Among the replies that showed admiration for Angelico’s motorcycle, speculation continued until Satin reported the news.

In today’s video, he said that he achieved his goal of wrestling in Europe and performing for the best promotions in the continent. Desiring other challenges, Angelico decided to write another chapter in his lengthy career, which led him to All Elite Wrestling. Evans called Angelico, asking him if he’s ready. Angelico simply replied, “The real question is, are they ready for us?”

Angelico made a name for himself in various promotions. He is perhaps best known for his time in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. There he is a 3-time World Tag Team Champion alongside Evans. Angelico gained international fame in large part due to Lucha Underground, where he first appeared in 2015. During his time in Lucha Underground, he won the Trios Championship twice with Ivelisse and Son of Havoc. Angelico remained on the show for the first three seasons before announcing his departure.

From his debut in 2000, Evans wrestled across different promotions, ranging from Stampede Wrestling to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Like Angelico, Evans made a name for himself in AAA. He has held the promotion’s Cruiserweight and World Tag Team Championships. He also competed on Lucha Underground, where he is a one-time Trios Champion alongside PJ Black and Johnny Mundo. In PWG, where Evans wrestled periodically, he won the promotion’s World Tag Team Championship with current NXT Superstar Roderick Strong.

Sutter’s Synopsis: With the official announcement of Angelico and Jack Evans signing with AEW, their tag team scene becomes that much stronger. It can be argued that AEW has the strongest tag team division in wrestling. From The Young Bucks to The Lucha Brothers to SoCal Uncensored, the signing of Angelico and Evans is apropos. Their debut match hasn’t been announced, but expect them to become the division’s highlight reel, showcasing breathtaking maneuvers and high-flying offense, before long.
