A new chapter will open within the Erie independent wrestling scene on Saturday when the first-ever Empire State Wrestling Keystone event occurs at the Saga Club, as ESW Keystone Presents New Again.
The first announcement of New Again came at Changing The Game in June, the final Pro Wrestling Rampage event. After making a surprise appearance and defeating Price Purgold, ESW stalwart Vince Valor revealed to the crowd the official rebranding that would occur.
ESW Keystone Presents New Again
“A name change was something I considered for some time after I bought PWR,” said ESW promoter Brett Stymus.
“Eventually, I decided it was best to provide not just a clean slate for the fans but also to show that the ESW brand itself was also expanding outside of our regular home-base.”
Valor will be in action at New Again. He will face Cristiano Argento. At Gem City Madness in March, Argento defeated Levi Everett.
The ESW Interstate Championship will be defended. National Wrestling Alliance star Spencer Slade will put the belt on the line against Channing Decker.
Slade retained the title against Cheech in July at Everything To Gaine. Decker is no stranger to ESW title matches. He fought Bill Collier for the ESW Heavyweight Championship at the same event.
ESWK Lake Erie Champion Dakoda Orion will team with Ryze against Jeremiah Richter and Darren Crowe of Edge of Hope. There is a lot of history between these competitors. Orion successfully defended the title against Crowe at Everything To Gaine.
Ryze lost to Crowe at Changing The Game, which included being distracted by a mysterious voice that came across the Saga Club’s PA system. Richter last competed at the Saga Club in June 2023 when he challenged Orion for the belt.
Anthony Young will square off against Gavin Glass. Young defeated Mattick and Nick Ando in the main event of Changing The Game.
This will be the Erie wrestling debut for Glass. Glass performed impressively in the Everything To Gaine Rumble, making it to the final three.
Two products of the Buffalo Wrestling Academy will lock horns. Tommy K will face Groff. Tommy beat Cerin Rahne in June. Groff, accompanied by William Gaines, defeated Matt McCoy at the same event.
Still searching for his first win in Erie, McCoy will face Dan Joseph. This will be Joseph’s ESW debut and his first match in Pennsylvania. Joseph was a regular for Championship Wrestling From Hollywood and wrestled extensively on the West Coast.
Robby Vegas will return to Erie and take on one of the area’s staples in Dave Bentley. Vegas fought Crowe at his last appearance in March.
Bentley nearly won the ESWK Lake Erie Championship from Orion in June, only for the match to be restarted after referees caught him cheating.
Rounding out the card is a women’s division match-up. Adrianna Fury will face newcomer Kayleena Keane. Fury last appeared in an ESW ring in April when she took on Haley Dylan.
Keane will make her ESW debut in the bout. She previously wrestled in the Midwest after training at Black & Brave Wrestling Academy.
Doors for New Again open at 5 p.m., with bell time set for 6 p.m. Tickets are for sale at Actiontoyman. They can also be purchased online at ESWTIX.com, including an exclusive four-pack deal. Prices increase by $5 at the door.
