Between a clash of egos for the North American Championship, a battle between the entire women’s division, a fight between kings and an era, and a memorable match between two true queens of the ring, NXT last week was nothing short of eventful. But even with these events all boiling down to the annual NXT Takeover: War Games taking place in two weeks, the party has just begun. How will Team LeRae and Team Blackheart shape up this week? What else will William Regal announce for the big PPV? And will Finn Balor have a challenger for his NXT Championship? On the eve of Thanksgiving, we bring hope to have the answers and more as we bring you Coming Up NXT for November 25th, 2020, Dinner Before War.

    The Kevin Owens Show

But before we begin our countdown to War Games, Wade Barrett will be M.I.A. for this week’s show. In his place, the former Universal Champion and current Friday Night Smackdown superstar Kevin Owens will sit in as guest commentator! While we all know the former NXT Champion is as brash and outspoken as Wade, the superstar who pulls no punches is sure to enjoy the action of his old stopping grounds.

What dynamic will Owens bring to the broadcast? What will he have to say about the so-called Kings of NXT? And are we certain KO won’t mix it up with the superstars of the black and gold brand?

    Balls To The Wall

General Manager William Regal’s triumphant announcement of War Games has become an internet staple and ever-popular meme throughout the NXT Universe. But his announcement always breeds chaos before the big showdown, and that’s exactly what is being created within the Women’s division. So while Io Shirai is recovering from a war of her own last week, Shotzi Blackheart and Candice LeRae are set to go to battle in 2 weeks at War Games.

But after last week, the women of NXT are destined to fight forever. We’re for certain ‘scream queen’ Indi Hartwell will join LeRae, and the strong possibility of mutual rivals Toni Storm will be at Shotzi’s side. But who else will join the Poison Pixie and the Ball pit Queen into one of NXT’s most hellacious structures?

The cat, @FinnBalor, is BACK… and LOOK who he dragged in with him.

    All The Kings Men…

And while William Regal has made the call (figuratively speaking) and made the decision for War Games to take place, it is obvious Pat McAfee may have bitten off more than they can chew. Over the past 3 years, the War Games event has been the staple of the Undisputed Era. Win or lose, the mayhem in two cages is their playground.

In two weeks, it’s no more talk. No more games. No more run-ins. Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong will face the NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, Pete Dunne, and the loudmouth Pat McAfee. But before the big showdown between these eight superstars, we are sure to get a one-on-one between the two sides in preparation for war. Can we see a renewed rivalry between Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong? Will the tag champs Lorcan and Burch face off against former champs Fish and O’Reilly? Could we see a Takeover re-match between McAfee and Cole? The possibilities are endless, leading into the December 6th event?

    ‘Ruff’ Around the Edges

Then there’s the North American Champion Leon Ruff. Two weeks ago, Ruff shocked the world by defeating NXT’s most decorated superstar in Johnny Gargano. On last week’s show, the champion faced Gargano in a re-match for the title, which ended in DQ and retained the title on Ruff’s resume. But after Damian Priest has also taken a liking to the ambitious, young superstar when it comes to the matter of his title, it seems we are stuck in a triangle of sorts.

After stating to William Regal last week that “everybody thinks that I’m a joke, so here’s the punchline. I’ll face the BOTH of them”, this week’s show, we could see Damian Priest in the ring as he stakes his claim to a rematch for the North American Championship. Or will William Regal began to fill out this already stacked PPV card and call for a triple threat match for the title between the champion Leon Ruff, The Archer of Infamy, and Johnny Wrestling?

    Before The Conflict

As it stands, NXT Takeover: War Games will have The Kings of NXT vs. The Undisputed Era and Team Shotzi vs. Team LeRae, but who what other conflicts will be added to the final Takeover of 2020? Or even on this week’s edition of NXT on USA? With Io Shirai still standing as the NXT Women’s Champion, can she have a short two weeks off before she has another challenger for her title, or will the Genius of the Sky wait in the wings as the division implodes in War Games? Has Timothy Thatcher finally met his match with a possible fight with a new teacher in Tommaso Ciampa? Will Santos Escobar have another man step up to dethrone the Emperor en route to becoming the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion?

But for Escobar, it seems he is looking at Finn Balor as his next target. Will Balor get a challenger for the NXT Championship? Or could he already have one waiting in the wings…

And who is this mystery woman Big Boa speaks of that is coming, presumably, to NXT? That is all to come on this week’s edition of Coming Up NXT for the November 25th episode! Tune in Wednesday at 8 pm EST only on the USA Network.
