We’re on the road to the next big NXT event, NXT Takeover: In Your House. Airing live on the WWE Network on June 7th. The black and gold brand is back at it with another exciting edition of NXT! Let’s take a look and see what we’re all in store for in this  Caged Heat edition of Coming up NXT for the 5/27/20 episode.

    Ladies First

It’s been weeks of a power struggle in the NXT Women’s division. Charlotte Flair has been showing off her NXT Women’s title on the three brands. Rhea Ripley has returned to NXT after her Wrestlemania loss. And with Io Shirai’s frustration at not finishing her dream match with Flair…The division is on fire!

Flair vs Ripley vs Shirai has been announced for Takeover: In Your House. This week’s NXT gives a sample size appetizer before June 7th’s clash.

The Genius and The Nightmare team together to face the Queen and a yet to be named tag team partner which can serve as a great start to this week’s NXT! Can Io and Rhea get on the same page for the common enemy? Or will Flair show why she is this generation’s greatest of all-time?  And who will the champ choose to be her partner?

    A Year To Remember

Adam Cole has called the shots for one calendar year. Between challengers from damn near all three brands in WWE, to even NXT’s past coming back to step up to him, the leader of the UE has served as one of the greatest NXT superstars of all-time. As stated before his stablemate Roderick Strong defeated Dexter Lumis, Adam Cole is slated to have a celebration of his 365 domination over the brand’s top title.

But since winning the title at Takovver XXV, Cole has been haunted by one man: the Velveteen Dream. Fresh off his epic Purple Rainmaker from the ring to a prone, floored Cole, Dream is still seeking the brand’s top championship to solidify himself as the man in NXT. Will Adam Cole’s coronation go without a hitch? Or will Velveteen Dream, or even the creepy Dexter Lumis, crash the party?

Lock Em Up and Throw Away The Key

Matt Riddle has lost it all: his beautiful partnership with ‘the Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne, his NXT Tag Team Championships and his one-sided budding friendship with Timothy Thatcher. But for the ladder, it all comes ahead on this week’s edition of NXT. With the knife still fresh in Riddle’s back from Thatcher’s betrayal, it has taken some finagling from NXT General Manager to find the best way for these two men to settle their differences: put them both in a cage.

And while Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher are now destined to clash in a steel cage match, GM Regal took it one step further to assure this match is settled next week with no doubts or questions. Announced via social media on Sunday, WWE Hall of Famer and multi-time WWE Champion, Kurt Angle will be the special guest referee for this match!

It’s the sure-fire main event as Matt Riddle faces Timothy Thatcher! Can Riddle finally put Thatcher behind him? Or will Thatcher continue to leave a mark in his early NXT career?

Also this week, after another week of the masked luchadores attempting to kidnap a NXT Cruiserweight, will we find out who is behind this plot and why? And what about the tournament itself? How will Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott rebound? How will Tony Nese continue to torment the other competitors after he’s been mathematically eliminated? And after interrupting Mia Yim’s win, how will the Gargano’s disturb the HBIC life and other’s on the NXT brand? And will Keith Lee put an end to it?

That was Coming Up NXT for 5/27/20. Tune in tonight as NXT is only on the USA Network!
