C*4 Wrestling presents Deep Rising, their 15th-anniversary celebration from Ottawa’s Preston Event Centre, on Friday, November 18th. Deep Rising is headlined by three exciting title matches, one of which being a highly-anticipated rematch from last season. The promotion has stacked the card up and down for an evening that promises to prove why exactly Capital City Championship Combat is among the best independent wrestling in the world.

Trios Match
Pretty Ricky, Sexxxy Eddy & Puf vs. Holden Albright, Kobe Durst & Sway Archer

The charismatic and always entertaining trio of Pretty Ricky, Sexxxy Eddy and Puf are reuniting once again for trios action. Across the ring from them will be Sway Archer, who came up short against the trio back at September’s Silver Bullet event. Rather than Shayne Hawke and Macrae Martin, this time Archer’s back up comes in the form of a tiger and a wolf: Kobe Durst and Holden Albright.

James Stone (w/Vanessa Kraven) vs. LuFisto

Few men have strung together the success seen by “Scrapper” James Stone so far this season, and none have the insurance policy that is “The Mountain” Vanessa Kraven. However, he may face his toughest challenge to date: a LuFisto who has nothing to lose. LuFisto came up short in a four-way bout for Joshua Bishop’s C*4 Underground Championship last month and undoubtedly is gunning for a win.

Isaiah Broner vs. ???

Isaiah Broner’s debut match at last month’s Season of the Witch was one of the most talked-about by night’s end. Broner demolished Mikey Thunder in a matter of minutes, putting on one of the most one-sided performances in C*4 history.

Jody Threat vs. Myung Jae Lee vs. Cecil Nyx vs. Vaughn Vertigo

C*4’s multi-person matches are a staple at the Preston Event Centre, and this one will surely be no different. Vaughn Vertigo will undoubtedly be gunning for Cecil Nyx, after he and Alexia Nicole forced the break-up of Fight Or Flight last month. Jody Threat also has issues with Nyx dating back to multiple outings last season. In the other corner is Myung Jae Lee, making his return after coming up short for the C*4 Underground Championship in September.

Joshua Bishop (c) vs. Manders

Joshua Bishop has been nothing but dominant since winning the C*4 Underground Championship in a gauntlet match at Silver Bullet. Last month he bested LuFisto, Marcus Mathers and Mance Warner in impressive fashion. At Deep Rising, his next challenge will be a C*4 newcomer, Manders. The ‘Cornbelt Cowboy” is an American standout, competing for the likes of GCW, Impact and Beyond Wrestling.

Three-Way Match
Buxx Belmar vs. Junior Benito vs. Stu Grayson

Three of C*4’s most popular wrestlers will face off in this three-way bout. Buxx Belmar is set to make his C*4 return after an injury prevented him from doing so last month. Junior Benito and Stu Grayson have both been unstoppable this season, scoring victories over Alec Price and AKIRA, respectively at Season of the Witch. Benito may be the underdog, going up against two former C*4 Champions, but odds like that have never stopped him before. One thing is for certain, the winner of this match could very well be next in line for a C*4 Title shot.

Street Fight
Alexia Nicole vs. Gabriel Fuerza

The other half of last month’s Fight Or Flight break-up incident will face off in a street fight, as Alexia Nicole faces off with Gabriel Fuerza. Fuerza had targeted Nicole in multiple matches leading into the bout at Season of the Witch, this outing presents both competitors to exact revenge by any means necessary.

Violence Is Forever (c) vs. Hawke & Hotstepper

The dominant C*4 Tag Team Champions, Violence Is Forever, are set to defend their titles after overcoming MSP and Le Tabarnak De Team last month. Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku’s next challengers come in the form of the “Hotstepper” Macrae Martin and “Professor H” Shayne Hawke. The challengers are also coming off of a four-way tag victory last month over For The Glory, Locked And Loaded and Pretty Ricky/Sexxxy Eddy.

T.D.T. Suspended

While on the topic of the C*4 Tag Team Championships, we must mention that T.D.T. have been suspended from competing at Deep Rising after putting their hands on a referee at Season of the Witch. “We certainly are saddened they will not be a part of our 15th-anniversary event.

However, we also could not let their misconduct go without repercussions. We hope to see them in 2023. Hopefully, the pair can control themselves in the future and will show a new attitude in the new year,” said C*4 via a social media statement. However, Mathieu St-Jacques took to Twitter to threaten an appearance at Deep Rising, saying, “You can’t tell us what to do or where to be.”

C*4 Championship
Kevin Blackwood (c) vs. Jonathan Gresham

Kevin Blackwood will make his first defense of the C*4 Championship since winning the title from “Speedball” Mike Bailey. He’ll be doing so in a highly-anticipated rematch from last season against Jonathan Gresham. The story of their last match was simple: Blackwood’s kicks versus Gresham’s chops. In that match, at-the-time ROH World Champion Gresham was able to overcome Blackwood. Will the result be different at Deep Rising, or are we about to see a new C*4 Champion Crowned?
