This past Sunday at AEW All Out, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defeated IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage. The prize for this match was Omega’s AEW World Championship, however in pinning the IMPACT World Champion, Omega has earned a match for Cage’s title. What does this mean for #1 Contender Ace Austin? Will we still see Austin vs. Cage for the IMPACT World Title at Victory Road? We’ll have to wait and see on this week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV. As always, here’s Brace For IMPACT for 9/9/21 to guide you through the card of this week’s IMPACT Wrestling.

     Steve Maclin vs Petey Williams

Since Slammiversary, Steve Maclin and Petey Williams have become fixtures of Before The IMPACT, the one-hour lead-in to IMPACT on AXS TV. Both men have served as the measuring stick for IMPACT Wrestling hopefuls like Kal Herro, Tony Gunn, and John Skyler.

This week, they meet in singles action on IMPACT Wrestling proper. Could this be the start of a feud between the up-and-coming Maclin and the veteran Williams? We’ll have to see this Thursday night on an all-new IMPACT Wrestling.

Rosemary (w/Decay) vs Tasha Steelz (w/Savannah Evans)

At Slammiversary, Rosemary teamed up with long-time rival Havok to defeat Fire ‘n’ Flava for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Fire ‘n’ Flava had to part ways shortly after, as Kiera Hogan left IMPACT Wrestling. Since then, Tasha Steelz has been looking for a partner to challenge for the coveted Knockouts Tag Team Titles again. It seems she’s found her new partner in the towering Savannah Evans.

Steelz still has an uphill battle, though, as she has to get a win over Havok & Rosemary or win the #1 contendership before she can face Decay again. This Thursday she faces Rosemary in singles action, however DECAY will be at ringside. Can Evans be the equalizer in this match, or will DECAY’s mind games get to Tasha Steelz?

    Chris Bey vs David Finlay

This Thursday, we see another chapter in the feud between Bullet Club and FinJuice in IMPACT Wrestling. Back in Early August, Chris Bey defeated Juice Robinson in singles action, and now it’s time for David Finlay (the ‘Fin’ in FinJuice) to avenge his partner. Clearly, this is leading into a match between Bullet Club and FinJuice down the line.

However, this writer must ask: Where is Jay White? If Bey is fighting FinJuice to prove his worth to The Switchblade, shouldn’t Jay White be present? Is Chris Bey just a pawn in Jay White’s bigger game?

    Moose vs Eddie Edwards

After months of jockeying for the #1 contendership, it seems Moose and Eddie Edwards have renewed their old rivalry. Back in 2018/2019, these two went to war, bringing in such heavy hitters as Tommy Dreamer and Killer Kross. Thursday night on AXS TV, they go at it in singles action for the first time since the IMPACT Wrestling/CWFH show in 2019.

That night, Eddie Edwards came out on top. However, that match was a street fight, and Edwards usually has the upper hand whenever weapons are involved. On Thursday night, Edwards has no such advantage, so the smart money is on Moose.

     Rich Swann vs Karl Anderson

    – Bunkhouse Brawl

Two weeks ago, Rich Swann & Willie Mack faced IMPACT Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers in a non-title match. This being the first time The Good Brothers had to face Swann & Mack face-to-face, they had the incentive to put their challengers back in line. To that end, Karl Anderson put Willie Mack on the injured list. As such, Rich Swann will have to wait until Willie Mack is cleared to compete before they challenge for the IMPACT Tag Team Titles.

This week, however, Rich Swann can avenge his fallen friend by facing Karl Anderson in a Bunkhouse Brawl. That’s right, no count outs, no disqualifications, and cameras will follow Swan and Anderson as they paste each other around Skyway Studios. You won’t want to miss the action this Thursday night on AXS TV.

    What Else To Expect

    • Hernandez & Johnny Swinger in action
    • W. Morrissey in action
    • Josh Alexander continues his open challenge
