It has been a very hectic couple of weeks for IMPACT Wrestling and a very exciting one. Thankfully, Pete Moon is here with Brace For IMPACT to help you understand it all. On the very first match of AEW Rampage, Christian Cage defeated Kenny Omega for the IMPACT World Championship. Now in his third reign as the company’s top champion, Christian Cage defended his title against Brian Myers at Emergence last Friday night. Also, that night, Ace Austin defeated Moose, Sami Callihan, and Chris Sabin to become the #1 Contender. But what does this mean for Kenny Omega? We’ll find out tonight on AXS TV as we Brace for IMPACT for 8/26/21.

    Chris Bey vs. David Finlay

Following his debut at Slammiversary, “Switchblade,” Jay White has taken an interest in Chris Bey. The NEVER Openweight Champion even went so far as to anoint Bey as a member of Bullet Club. However, after establishing a Bullet Club presence in IMPACT Wrestling, they set about antagonizing fellow NJPW Tag Team FinJuice.

It started with a backstage assault, and then on August 5th, Bey faced Juice Robinson in singles action. This week, he’ll take on the other half of FinJuice, David Finlay. The son of The Belfast Bruiser himself, David Finlay isn’t one to take a friend’s beating lightly. But what does this mean for Bullet Club and FinJuice? Could this be a feud that ends at Bound For Glory?

Taylor Wilde vs. The Influence (Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne & Kaleb with a K)

IMPACT! on AXS TV Preview: August 26, 2021 – IMPACT Wrestling

At Emergence, Madison Rayne came out of retirement to take on Taylor Wilde in singles action. That night, Wilde reigned supreme, despite interference from Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K. This week, Taylor Wilde wants to prove she’s better than all three as she takes them on in a 1-on-3 handicap match.

This is an interesting angle to take, as usually, the 1-on-3 handicap match is reserved for a monster who can crush 3 competitors at once or a babyface up against a stacked deck. However, Wilde invited this match herself. We’ll see if she’s bitten off more than she can chew tonight on IMPACT on AXS.

    Chris Sabin vs Sami Callihan

Everything Announced For Tonight's IMPACT Wrestling Card (26 August)

Last week, Sabin and Callihan teamed up to take on the challenge of Moose and Ace Austin. While I put my money on Moose & Austin, it was Sabin & Callihan who came out on top. However, the mismatched pair’s victory came in kind of a screwy way. Towards the end of the match, Callihan sent Moose out of the ring and began absolutely dominating Ace Austin.

He hit several power moves on Austin, knocking him inside-out with a clothesline and slamming him to the mat with a powerbomb. Then, just as it seemed like Callihan was setting up for the piledriver, Sabin tagged himself in to hit Austin with the Cradle Shock for the win. This week, Sami Callihan is out to get his win back. But, in order to do it, he’s going to have to go through one of the most decorated wrestlers in the company.

The Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack

Impact Wrestling Preview (8/26) – Emergence Fallout - The Overtimer

At Emergence, Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson faced Rich Swann & Willie Mack and Joe Doering & Rhino for the IMPACT Tag Team Championships. While The Good Brothers retained their titles, Anderson rolled up Rhino to do it. As such, Violent By Design have to go to the back of the line. However, Anderson pinned Rhino as Mack was setting up for the frog splash.

Had Anderson not been there, we might have seen new champions. This week Rich Swann & Willie Mack meet The Good Brothers face-to-face with no distractions. Will this help Swann & Mack’s chances? Should they win tonight, they’ll punch their ticket to an IMPACT World Tag Team Championship match at Victory Road…

    What else to expect…

    • Christian Cage in the IMPACT Zone
    • Newcomer John Skyler in action
    • DECAY in action
