It’s a big week on IMPACT Wrestling. At Victory Road, then-X-Division Champion Josh Alexander invoked Option C to challenge for the IMPACT World Championship. Last week, The Walking Weapon officially relinquished the X-Division Championship belt at the top of the show. IMPACT Wrestling is without an X-Division Champion, and to rectify the situation, Executive VP Scott D’Amore has announced a tournament with a twist. Over the coming weeks, we will see he best of the X-Division compete in a series of Triple Threat matches to crown a new champion. That along with the continued build to Knockouts Knockdown and Bound for Glory here on Brace for IMPACT for 09/30/21!

Madman Fulton vs Christopher Daniels
On the subject of Josh Alexander and Option C, he met his first hurdle last week when Ace Austin challenged him for #1 Contendership. The Walking Weapon made short work of Austin, but with Madman Fulton at his side, Austin still held a numbers advantage. Austin and Fulton began a 2-on-1 beatdown on Josh Alexander, only for IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage took to the ring. With The Walking Weapon on his back, Austin and Fulton could invest their full attention to the IMPACT World Champion.
Just when it seemed the bad guys might stand tall, IMPACT Wrestling legend Christopher Daniels entered the IMPACT Zone for the first time since 2014. Daniels, Cage, and Alexander joined forces to send the heels packing. Thursday night, Daniels faces Madman Fulton, who must be seething after Daniels got the better of him last week. The Fallen Angel has been in a rough place in AEW, with the collapse of SoCal Uncensored weighing on him. Perhaps a return to IMPACT Wrestling will be just the shot Daniels needs.
Laredo Kid vs. Trey Miguel vs. Alex Zayne
GCW fans rejoice! This Thursday, Alex Zayne returns to the IMPACT Zone to participate in the X-Division Title Tournament. The last time Zayne competed in an IMPACT Wrestling ring was at All Glory on October 19th, 2019. That night he ate the pinfall at the hands of Blake Christian in a triple threat match also featuring Mark Wheeler. With his fast-paced, high-flying style, Zayne is a natural fit for the X-Division, but can he go all the way in this tournament? In his first match on AXS TV, Zayne faces X-Division mainstay Trey Miguel and recent IMPACT Wrestling arrival Laredo Kid.
Trey Miguel has always been a hungry competitor, and it’s not uncommon to hear his name come up in relation to the championship picture. However, he always seems to come up short in the big matches. Will things change as Trey Niguel progresses through the tournament? As for Laredo Kid, the masked luchador has spent most of his time with IMPACT Wrestling; trading wins with John Skyler on BTI. The X-Division Title Tournament will be his highest profile match stateside, and an upset victory would shake things up in a big way for the X-Division. Tune in for what promises to be an exciting start to the X-Division Title Tournament this Thursday night on AXS.

The Influence vs Jordynne Grace & Raechel Ellering
– #1 Contendership
After trying her hardest to split up the team of Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering, Dashwood joined forces with the returning Madison Rayne to form The Influence. Shortly thereafter, The Influence tested themselves by picking on Taylor Wilde. Wilde then joined up with Grace & Ellering to even the odds against Rayne, Grace, and Kaleb with a K.
However, during these clashes, one doubt’s either side knew they were rising in the tag team ranks. With no clear challenger to Havok & Rosemary’s Knockouts Tag Team Championships, it’s time for a #1 Contender’s match. It’s powerhouses vs. technical masters this Thursday night on IMPACT Wrestling!

Eddie Edwards vs W. Morrissey
– Street Fight
In the lead-up to Victory Road, W Morrisey and Moose took it upon themselves to pick on Eddie Edwards. It started with match interference but escalated to backstage assaults. Things came to a head before Victory Road when W Morrissey powerbombed Alisha Edwards through a table. With that act, Morrissey drove Edwards over the edge, to the point where he joined up with sworn enemy Sami Callihan to take on Morrissey and Moose.
At Victory Road, Moose and Morrissey defeated Edwards & Callihan, and again Morrissey assaulted Alisha. Eddie Edwards is absolutely furious, and he’ll get to take out his frustrations on W. Morrissey this Thursday night in a Street Fight. Will the addition of weapons even the odds or, will it just give Morrissey more to work with?
What Else To Expect
