This the go-home edition of Raw; WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka’s tag team partner Lana was taken out of the championship match this evening. Her departure immediately led to speculation as to who it could be. After the champions made their way to the ring, Asuka would follow. However, it was the return of Charlotte Flair that would complete the match. On her first night back in action, Charlotte Flair and Asuka would win the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Before the match took place, the onslaught by the champions on Lana was as much about breaking her spirit as it was teaching her a lesson. This was a case where Lana’s replacement would be none other than a twelve-time women’s champion. Early on in the match, it seemed as though the challengers would maintain control and capture the championships. The problem is as the match progressed, both Asuka and Flair would have to suffer an onslaught by both Nia Jax and Baszler. With each strike to try and take down the challengers, Flair and Asuka would have the answer. Upon her return, fans were witness to the Queen’s signature top rope moonsault to the floor. Once again, she would hit the move in what appeared to be nothing short of a thing of beauty.

One of the most intriguing exchanges in the match was between Shayna Baszler and Charlotte Flair. The exchange was intriguing as it was a battle of two women representing the famed ‘Four Horsewomen.’ Whether it is one that represents MMA and the other that represents Pro-Wrestling/Sports-Entertainment, the battle does make fans wonder. Baszler attempted to lock in her Kirifuda Clutch, but Flair would slip through the hold. Flair would roll through attempting to make a pinfall, but Baszler would kick out.

As Nia Jax attempted to get involved and break up an attempted Figure Eight by Charlotte Flair, Asuka would take her out with a hip attack. However, Flair and Baszler’s battle in the ring would continue. Baszler would once again attempt to lock in a Kirifuda Clutch but Flair would avoid it. He would then follow this up with the Natural Selection finisher. Flair follows this up with a cover and a one..two..three. This would be Flair’s first time holding the women’s tag team championship and Asuka’s third title reign. How will this tag team title reign eventually playout for the new champions? Only time will tell.
