This week’s preview of AEW Rampage for 7/8/22 comes on the heels of an exciting edition of AEW Dynamite. It features four matches, including an ROH-focused tag team match debut, a tag team match involving the ROH Women’s Champion, and two matches including two of AEW’s most popular stars.

On this week’s edition of Dynamite, we saw animosity backstage leading to a match for this coming week’s Rampage, but we also found that Ring of Honor will be a focal point in one way or another on this coming week’s episode of Rampage.

ROH’s Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez & Serena Deeb In Action

Two of AEW’s toughest women once again are aligned together. But unlike other tandems on the roster, THIS duo really has all the tools to be inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. While AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships haven’t been officially announced, seeing pairings of duos such as Mercedes and Serena, it’s hard not to think that it won’t happen at some point.

It hasn’t been announced who officially is facing Serena and Mercedes, but whoever it is, they best fear what is likely to be short work for her.

    Konosuke Takeshita vs. Eddie Kingston

Kingston’s feud with Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society may be over. But the question is, does that mean his issues with Claudio Castagnoli once again rise to the forefront? If it does, Kingston will have to redirect his energy or not being the one to get the win at Blood and Guts and take out Konosuke Takeshita. Takeshita is quickly rising up the card in the eyes of fans as a young star coming from the east to make it in the west.

Will this be the night where he slips past the Mad King and walk away with the win? If Eddie Kingston has anything, he’ll channel all the strength and ghosts of the likes of Misawa to put down Takeshita in this Friday night battle.

Lee Moriarty and Jonathan Gresham vs. Gates of Agony with Tully Blanchard

This match has the potential to be the most exciting match of the night. Fans have come to see what Moriarty can do in AEW. What AEW fans may not know is how absolutely amazing the Octopus Jonathan Gresham is in the ring. But this duo stands across the ring from Tully Blanchard’s newest tandem that embraced the culture and the popular Samoan lineage to be a fierce pairing.

Loa and Kaun are impressive and fierce even in their presence. So in stature alone, they have that advantage over Moriarty and Gresham. Gresham has the ROH World Championship preoccupy his time. But on this night, he’s working as part of pairing something he is all too familiar with during his time in Ring of Honor’s The Foundation.

Orange Cassidy vs. Tony Nese with Mark Sterling

In what came about innocently enough with Nese interrupting Orange Cassidy, Jefferson Starship’s favorite son is going to put the Premier athlete in his place. This match is sure to be exciting as it puts two men with incredible skill and compatibility in the ring with one another. At the same time, we can anticipate that the two will likely put on an entertaining matchup.

What should also be expected is that this match could also be a vehicle to help elevate Orange Cassidy to where he was on the card prior to his injury. Will this lead to a future TNT Championship, AEW World, or All-Atlantic Championship match? Only time will tell.

    What To Expect

    • The Young Bucks address their upcoming triple threat tag team championship match at Fyter Fest.
    • Wardlow speaks on becoming the new AEW TNT Champion
    • Malakai Black addresses Miro’s pursuit of him and his intention
