This week’s preview of AEW Rampage for 7/1/22 comes off the heels of an electric Blood And Guts edition of AEW Dynamite. It features three matches, including a battle royal to determine the No. 1 Contender for the AEW World Championship and a forbidden door face-off between two of the top teams in America and Japan.
Wrestling fans are still buzzing from the historic supershow between AEW and NJPW in Forbidden door, as well as the violence of the Blood and Guts match that happened this past Wednesday on Dynamite. So what will be the fallout of these two monumental shows for All Elite Wrestling? Tune in this Friday to find out.
AEW Rampage for 7/1/22
Nyla Rose vs. Toni Storm
On the June 22nd edition of Dynamite, Nyla Rose orchestrated an attack on Toni Storm after her win over Marina Shafir. Unfortunately, the damage may have been a factor in costing Toni Storm the AEW Women’s World championship at Forbidden Door, so she is out for revenge. The grudge match between Storm and Rose will go down this Friday night on AEW Rampage.
As well as this, every woman on the roster is trying to climb the mountain for a shot at Thunder Rosa for the championship, with this match possibly going a long way for a title match down the road. So will Storm get her revenge on the Native Beast after her heinous attack?
AEW Rampage for 7/1/22
Young Bucks vs. Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi
Even though both teams had exhausting matches, competing for their respective companies this past Sunday, they are walking back through the Forbidden Door this Friday. Matt and Nick Jackson laid out the challenge to Goto and Hashi, stating that if they (the Bucks) could defeat them, they would receive a future AEW Tag Team Championship match. These teams will also continue to compete for wrestling dominance between AEW and NJPW.
Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi have gained momentum with their win over QT Marshall and Aaron Solo this past Sunday at Forbidden Door, but competing with the Jackson brothers is an entirely different ballgame. The Bucks are a world-traveled tag team with multiple tag title reigns and the more experienced tag team, so the New Japan alliance have their hand full in this matchup.
Will The Young Bucks continue to support their claim to being the best tag team in the world? Or will Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi get the upset for a future shot at the AEW tag team titles?

Royal Rampage
(Winner Becomes No. 1 Contender to The AEW World Championship)
There seems to be no rest for the wicked when it comes to the AEW World Champion. Jon Moxley will find out who the first challenger to his title will be this Friday night when wrestlers will compete in the Royal Rampage to become the Number One Contender to the AEW World Championship. The match will feature 20 participants, two rings, and the last man standing will have a title match with the Death Rider.
Some of the competitors include Penta Oscuro, Darby Allin, Keith Lee, and many other big names that are looking to win the AEW World championship from Moxley, as well as a future title unification match with CM Punk. Another name that is featured is the Hangman, Adam Page, who is also looking to reclaim the AEW title and get his win back from Punk, so there are a lot of strong motivations in this high-stakes matchup.
Who will be the last man standing that will go on to face Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship?
What to Expect:
- A new challenger emerges for Thunder Rosa and the AEW Women’s World Championship
- What will be the aftermath of the brutal Blood And Guts match this past Wednesday?
- Will tensions continue to rise between La Faccion Ingobernable and The Lucha Brothers?
