AEW Rampage for 2/4/22 (Guevara vs Kassidy)

On Friday, February 4th, AEW Rampage for 2/4/22 has four matches scheduled on the night. Of these four matches, two of them have titles on the line, from the TNT and FTW Championship’s being on the line to Adam Cole appearing to find out who is next on his journey to capture the AEW Championship to the rekindling of an old rivalry.

With AEW Revolution a little over a month away, these matches pose to have some long-term implications. This past week’s episode of Dynamite helped to set up this series of matches. First, we present the AEW Rampage for 2/4/22 preview.

    Adam Cole vs. Evil Uno

On the heels of his loss to Orange Cassidy, Adam Cole looks to move on. The first person in his journey forward is the Dark Order’s Evil Uno. Uno is one-half of the tandem with Stu Grayson. This time, however, he faces someone that is motivated and driven to finish Uno that he could be to his detriment. So often, when mistakes take place, the risk of costing yourself is possible.

In this instance, however, Cole is likely coming into this match with something to prove. It doesn’t matter who is in front of him, including Evil Uno; Adam Cole is determined to push right through him.

    Mercedes Martinez vs. Thunder Rosa

From her attack last month during the TBS Championship tournament to her match-up now, Thunder Rosa is likely coming for blood. However, just because Rosa wants this doesn’t mean that Martinez will sit back idly and allow it to happen. Martinez is as technically sound as anyone in AEW, including Thunder Rosa.

While Rosa was part of one of the most memorable matches in AEW (against Britt Baker), that isn’t to say her drive alone will be enough to put her in a position to win this match. Martinez is capable of taking her opposition apart limb by limb. This match has the potential of being every bit as physical and violent as Rosa’s other battles.

    FTW Championship
Ricky Starks (c) vs. Jay Lethal

The ongoing feud with Dante Martin and Team Taz has now included the support of Jay Lethal. Lethal is among the most decorated champions in wrestling. With his inclusion in AEW, fans that are aware of his past recognize that he brings with it all the energy and tenacity that he has long been known for. But when you face one member of Team Taz, the chances are there that another member won’t be far behind.

Will this be a match where Lethal and Starks battle without anyone else’s involvement? The chances of that aren’t likely.

    TNT Championship
Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Isiah Kassidy

Guevara faces an AHFO member and one-half of Private Party in Isiah Kassidy in an unlikely singles championship match. This past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, fans witnessed the encounter between Matt Hardy, Isiah Kassidy, and Sammy Guevara. The biggest question that remains here is will this be an opportunity for Sammy to showcase just how dominant of a TNT Champion he can be?

Guevara isn’t facing a regular singles wrestler, but he faces a very competitive talent. This match is likely to be the one match that sends Guevara on his way as one of the premier faces of AEW for 2022.
