It’s that time of the week again; we have another episode of AEW Rampage for 12/3/21 just around the corner. This week we will see a couple of champions in action. We will see TNT Champion Sammy Guevara take on Tony Nese in a championship match, hoping to retain his title. In tag team action, we will see the current reigning AEW World Tag Team Champion Penta El Zero Miedo and Pac take on FTR for the championship this week in a best 2 out of 3 falls match.

Originally it was supposed to be the Lucha Bros vs. FTR, but now that Rey Fenix will be unable to compete, we will see Pac take his place. We will also see Thunder Rosa’s student Janai Kai take on Jade Cargill. We will also see Thunder Rosa joining commentary this week for Janai’s match against Jade as Chris Jericho will be missing from commentary this week. It will be interesting to see if either of these championships change hands.

Let’s get to it and discuss these upcoming matches! Make sure you tune in to AEW Rampage this Friday on TNT to see these matches unfold.

    – Sammy Guevara vs. Tony Nese

Once again, we will see Sammy Guevara defend his TNT Championship, this time against Tony Nese. Nese hasn’t been in AEW long, but he has been in the business quite a while and sure could prove to be a challenge for Sammy Guevara this week. We saw Nese recently call out Sammy Guevara, which led to this match. This will be Tony Nese’s first AEW television debut.

He has had a few matches on Dark and Dark Elevation and is undefeated in those, but now we will see him in action in his Rampage debut vying for the TNT Championship. Sammy Guevara has proven that he does not plan on losing his title anytime soon. He has had a few impressive defenses so far. Can Tony Nese keep up his undefeated streak and pick up his first title in AEW during his Rampage debut? Sammy is going to bring it to him, so we shall see what the outcome will be.

    Best 2 of 3 Falls –
Penta El Zero Miedo & PAC vs. FTR

Initially, this match was supposed to be the Lucha Bros taking on FTR; however, Rey Fenix is now unable to compete, so Death Triangle stable mate PAC will be standing in for Rey Fenix to take on FTR. This will be a best two of three falls match, so whichever team gets the two falls will be the victors.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are former tag team champions, so they know what it takes to win the championship back, and winning this match could have them back on their way to the championship. PAC and Penta are very skilled competitors in the ring. PAC is a tough fighter, and Penta is quick and a high flier. FTR have been a team for quite a long time, though, so they may have the advantage when it comes to tag team compatibility. One way or another, this match should be a good one.

Jade Cargill w/ Smart Mark Sterling vs. Janai Kai

We saw this match come to be on Dynamite when it was announced that Jade Cargill will take on Thunder Rosa’s student Janai Kai. This will be Janai Kai’s AEW debut as well. Jade Cargill has already proven to be an unstoppable adversary so far. She still stands undefeated so far. Janai Kai has been making a name for herself on the indy scene, so this will be an excellent opportunity for her to showcase her skills to the AEW faithful.

Kai does have a martial arts background which will help her when taking on Cargill. We have seen Cargill put away many top competitors in the Women’s Division. If history repeats itself, Cargill will defeat Kai and pick up the one, two, three. Kai would make quite a statement if she could pick up the win over Cargill on her Rampage debut, though. It definitely will be interesting to see how this match turns out.

    What to expect?

    • Will we see Sammy Guevara successful in another title defense?
    • Will FTR pick up the win and get closer to the AEW World Tag Team Titles?
    • Can Jade Cargill keep up the undefeated streak, or will Janai Kai win her debut match?
