AEW Rampage for 10/7/22 (AEW Trios Championship CLASH)

This week’s preview of AEW Rampage for 10/7/22 comes on the heels of an exciting edition of AEW Dynamite, where an incredible co-main event featuring RUSH and Hangman Page took place. But as we lead into the next AEW Battle of the Belts, AEW Rampage is the prelude of another series of matches with titles all on the line to follow.

Four matches are announced to take place on the show. The four matches were announced to include a pair of tag team matches, a six-man tag match, and the trios’ championship match.

    AEW Trios Title Match

The Dark Order vs. Death Triangle (c)

The replacement is all the more intriguing with the last-minute change to the card. With the anniversary of Mr. Brodie Lee’s last match, the Dark Order is competing for the AEW Trios Titles. As Hangman Page attempted to fill in for the injured 10 during the tournament finals at All Out, Dark Order will have a chance to compete for the titles again.

John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and 10 are as committed as any trio to win going into a trios title match. With the narrative being Mr. Brodie Lee (their leader) being, who stood by them and maybe even his spirit guiding them going into this match, it’s a given something special should happen on this evening.

Skye Blue & Madison Rayne vs. Anna Jay & Tay Melo

On this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, in a backstage segment, the veteran Madison Rayne sang the praises of Skye Blue, who stood alongside her. The duo were part of an interview with Tony Schivone when Jericho Appreciation Society’s Tay Melo and Anna Jay confronted the two.

Blue was told she should work on being a better sports entertainer, and to that, she responded with that Jay and Melo should work on being better wrestlers. The challenge between them was made, signaling that the two weren’t just going to end on ill words. The challenge was laid for this night and this match between the four of them.

Who walks out on top wrestlers or sports entertainers?

Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta vs. Rush & Private Party

With both Yuta and Rush coming off of losses this past week on AEW Dynamite, it’s a chance for one of these men to walk away with a victory on this night. The Blackpool Combat Club is there to fight, whereas Rush and Private Party are seemingly on different pages with one another.

Will Matt Hardy be watching this match? And with Rush outnumbered, is this the moment when we see Quen and Kassidy finally break free of the Andrade Family Office regime? With intangibles such as the Butcher and the Blade likely to get involved, we could see all hell break loose among them.

Beyond this, Jon Moxley has Hangman Page in the back of his mind but will Yuta face MJF in a rematch? Only time will tell.

Varsity Blonds vs. Tony Nese & Josh Woods

With what appears to be a new look, Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr are set to move forward and make a dent in the tag team rankings in AEW. However, the team represented by Smart Mark Sterling, Tony Nese, and the ‘Technical Beast’ Josh Woods is the duo standing in their way.

Pillman and Garrison have been a tandem longer in AEW, but Nese and Woods are a tandem with more experience behind them; that is what can make the difference in a match like this. One has to wonder whether or not the animosity between them and WarJoe is now over or is still in lingering in the back of their heads.

Will the Varsity Blonds have what it takes to take out Nese and Woods?

As this week’s edition comes on the heels of AEW Dynamite, please share with us what you expect to happen on this week’s in the comment section below for AEW Rampage and leading into AEW Battle of the Belts IV.
