AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 8/18/21
Darby Allin & Sting vs. 2.0
(Texas Tornado Tag Team Match)
Sting last wrestled on TNT on the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro on March 26, 2001. Twenty years later, he returns to wrestle on TNT yet again. It will be great to see “The Icon” back wrestling where he belongs on Wednesday night.
The opponents for Darby and Sting will be 2.0. For the last few weeks, the newly signed team has been a thorn in Sting and Darby’s side. They get their chance against them on AEW Dynamite. If they can pull it off, it would be one of the biggest upsets in AEW history.
Sammy Guevara vs. Shawn Spears
Sammy Guevara is finally back in singles action! This will only be his third singles match on AEW Dynamite this year. He gets a match with an old rival, the Pinnacle’s Shawn Spears. The “Chairman of AEW” would love to take out a member of the Inner Circle in Houston.
Sammy Guevara has also announced that he will have a “major announcement” on Wednesday night. What could it possibly be? Here is hoping whatever the announcement is that it allows us to see this talented, young wrestler a lot more on AEW shows going forward.
Young Bucks (c) vs. Jurassic Express
(AEW World Tag Team Championship)
The Young Bucks have held the AEW World Tag Team Championship for 282 days. Furthermore, they have defended the tag team titles on eight separate occasions. So who can possibly defeat the cocky champions?
They will face one of their biggest challenges to date in Jurassic Express. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus have been one of the best teams in AEW since its formation in 2019. But they have fallen short on multiple occasions in the last two years. So can Jurassic Express finally win the big one? We know the Elite will do everything in their power to hold onto their beloved titles?

Chris Jericho vs. MJF
(Labours of Jericho #5)
Chris Jericho has gone through a lot to get a shot at MJF. He has fought members of the Pinnacle, an old rival, and even survived a Death Match. His reward after four grueling weeks is finally getting a singles match against MJF. But Maxwell has some unique stipulations for this final Labour.
Jericho cannot come out to his “Judas” entrance song. And more importantly, he cannot use the Judas effect to win the match. Will Chris Jericho have enough left in the tank to take down his brash rival? Or will MJF put down Chris Jericho for good? It will be a great way to end a memorable night in Houston.
